Prime and even past prime versions of Pac, Mosley, Margarito, and Oscar would murk Spence and Crawford.

Both guys probably beat Cotto, though.

 

Nah...They are good but their resumes are thin compared to the previous generation.

 

I would say as far as single wins I think the win over Canelo is better than both guys, especially when you consider where he’s gone on to

 

They could be better than SRL but if they spent their entire careers facing subpar competition and dragging fighters up from lower weight classes then who cares?

 

The thing is your basing this on Crawford not beating any top tier elite fighters. Hes 35 and his best win is Viktor Postol, whilst Crawford is talented he has not fought any top tier fighters.

Spence is the same hes best win is vs blown up Lightweight in Mikey Garcia.

So really it's all speculation because theres no evidence of it on their resume against top level opponents.

 

Pacquiao ? Marquez ? Castillo ? Corrales ? Cotto ? Canelo ? ODLH ?

Compare those names to the fighters Crawford and Spence have beaten.

 

Mosely was never stopped, Oscar was stopped once, when he was hit with a body shot after he went up to MW and fought Hopkins. Spence and Crawford are not stopping them, and based on their careers so far, are not head and shoulders better as you have stated.

JMM was forced to go from 135 to 144 (there was an unusual weight agreement that Floyd still exceeded by 2 pounds and paid his fine) but head to head I consider him better than Spence and Crawford, but that smaller version would have been much more winnable for the two.

If your question is whether Spence and Crawford could have repeated Floyd's career undefeated, then yes, there is a possibility, but it is far from a certainty.

I think SSM, Oscar, Pacquiao and JMM are better boxers with better careers so far.

 

Crawford & Spence beat anyone Floyd ever faced at 140/7 including OAP 2015 Pac.

But to be fair to Floyd his prime was as 130/135. Moment his hands started playing up and he was up at 140/47 he took the smart money making business route and made a brand for himself...

 

Agree. At least H2H they are stronger than any Floyd's opponent, including shot Pac and past prime ODLH.

Also I would add that current LW division is WAY better than when Floyd moved up to 135.

 

Floyd consistently fought good competition.

 

You cant compare that. Fliyds resume when he retired after Oscar was already better than Spence and Crawford.
