Exactly and this has to count its not good being great for 1 year or 2...I mean if that was the way we thought about it then Buster Douglas looked incredible that one night/morning was in Japan.

If Bowe fought Holy again he would have lost....they were both literally 50-50.

Holy was on the verge of winning the just gassed, it happens freak things happen and got knocked out.

10 fights, Bowe and Holy wins 5 a piece.

Another shame is Bower never really facing a big man, with a big punch...Old Foreman, Lewis, Ruddock..his resume was shallow.

If bowe was around say...2004-2008 he well could have had an unbeaten reign...despite dedication problems.

You just have to factor in the time period...who is around, who was on it who wasnt.

Bowe happend to stumble into one of the best decades for heavies.

Dedication is a massive part of it though, I think saying "if only he was dedicated" is just like saying "if only he has faster handspeed" or "if only he could punch like Tommy Hearns."

Not directed at you, Mo. :good

Bowe worked hard enough to become the undisputed heavyweight champ only 3 years after turning pro. At 25 he was on top of the world.

He had the dedication to get there but lacked the hunger to remain there for long.

Anyhoo my point was regarding him at his best, nothing to with his lifestyle & diet. :good

He developed much faster than Lewis even though he was younger. In '92 he would've been a favourite & I think he spanks a '92 Lewis.

They nearly fought in '94 as well, shame they never fought.

The biggest loss to his resume was Tyson going to jail, had he not Bowe would have bossed him. Though as Tyson was a Don King fighter there was very little chance of them ever fighting.

Byrd gets brutalised by the rather crude Ibeabuchi, yet he beats George Foreman?

Alright mate, if you say so :good

92 Lewis was a bit of a rough diamond, a bit vulnerable, and certainly not the fighter Manny Steward would craft him into over the years.................but he was still incredibly fast, powerful, dynamic and very dangerous. He absolutely slaughtered Ruddock, a quality fighter who never got done like that before. Lewis was a 'beast' in a sense IMO, he was never that fast of explosive before in his career. He was dynamic enough to beat Bowe IMO. That Lewis is on a very similar level to Bowe in terms of speed and power, and he could knock Bowe out I think. Equally, Lennox was more vulnerable and Bowe was more than capable of stopping him, but I think 92' Lennox's strengths get underrated in this match up.

Same. I don't read his posts, they're just nonsensical jibber-jabber.

:good Good post, I'd favour Bowe but '92 Lewis was very entertaining if a little unseasoned.

Not that it means anything but I'm not sure '92 Lewis would be able to boss Holy like Bowe did. I think Bowe would've beat Razor but not in the spectacular way Lewis did.

    Agreed.

The Holy from the first Bowe fight might just beat a 92 Lewis, though I'd still favour Lennox it wouldn't be clear cut. Agree about Bowe/Ruddock too. The Lewis fight suggested to me that a big, fast, powerful and physically strong heavyweight was a bit of a nightmare for Razor :good
