Another controversial opinion but Foreman in his comeback would have beaten the younger version.

He still lost to Holyfield, Morrison, Shultz, briggs

Also to note Foreman in his comeback would have lost to Lewis, Bowe, Tyson, if he had actuall faced them.

He was the linear champ though. Well out of his prime, bloated.

And yet none of those guys stopped him? But a feather fist from nearly 20 years before managed it :huh

He did NOT lose to ****ing Briggs either  Boxrec! BOXREC! Boxrec over here :deal

:think I disagree if those fights were over the 15 round distance, same day weigh ins and with lighter gloves

I think I did it before, i.e which weight classes would certain fighters be in today if there was same day weigh ins.

Really looking forward to Gamboa Vs Ike Williams, Brandon Rios Vs Sugar Ray Leonard and Victor Ortiz Vs Bob Foster

That's cool, you should get what you need from the sport :good

But then, it isn't possible to say 'Floyd is the greatest of all time'. Because you have no point off reference. It's like me saying 'Chinese people have the blackest skin in the World' when I refuse to look at any pictures of African people. Or 'McDonalds chips are better than Burger Kings' without tasting one of 'em.

You could say 'Floyd IMO is the greatest fighter since the times I'm interested in' or 'Floyd is my favourite fighter'.But if you are not at all interested in 'historical importane' then that is cool, you still have a lot of stuff/great fighters to enjoy in your preferred time cap :thumbsup

Thing is though Flea, the "modern" fighters can make the weights they make. They rehydrate because they are allowed to. I wonder how many would still make the same weight, live with the weight draining an how many would move up a weight?

Its def. not as simple as Margarito having to fight at light Heavweight if there were same day weigh-ins just because he is able to rehydrate to that weight though.

Margarito is a stand up guy, he never knowingly used tainted handwraps

    Paul Smith is crap

    Stephen Smith is crap

Other than breaking down individually at least 10 examples of greater boxers I'm not sure how:think

Its a personal opinion based on some footage Ive seen, what Ive read & his record. I have seen better boxers, better punchers & more talented fighters who have achieved more. Not many but a fair few.

I also take into account the heavyweight scene in which he fought, a former middleweight yes but he was bigger than Rocky, faster & technically superior

Charles is connoisseur's favourite who I'm not as familiar with as I am his contempories, but yeah, Rocky was/is better & going 23 rounds with him in successive fights is special :smoke

Thats fair enough but you pick one fighter out of history and his best performance that you will think will change my mind and I will watch it with an open mind!!

I aren't totally oblivious to pre-mid 90s, I've seen a few bits and pieces but I just think Floyds defence is the best I've seen and his shot selection is awesome!!

Zab showed **** all. His brief success in the first round was met by a sound boxing lesson in the second. He'd land a good shot and Cotto would punish him with three or four.

Also, the blueprint to beat Cotto isn't sharpshooting, it's pressure. You ficking mong.

Kid Gavilan was not featherfisted. As I say, I admit to not being very knowledgeable on fighters pre-early 90's, but his accuracy and snap meant he garenered the respect of many middleweight contenders and stopped a lot of the top welters of his day.
