Obviously he's a good trainer and everything (no need to go into specifics), but people seem to think he is a puppet master and controls everything his fighters do in the ring.

Jeffries a monster for his time, most of the guys he fought were 180

What of the bigger opponents some of the guys listed took on? For example Joe Louis fought Carnera and the Baers, all big guys (Buddy moreso than Max of course)

Surely that means, despite being smaller, they could hold their own?

As for Briggs-Foreman, fair enough that's your opinion :good But I could not score it to Briggs when I recently re-watched it.

The HBO staff are biased toward Foreman though, watch Schultz against Foreman and how Merchant hilariously gives it to his friend George.

Most of Joe Louis opponents would not qualify for heavyweight by today standard...these guys must be ranked pre 1962 when an emergence of bigger heavies took place.

Im talking on average too, yeah you can name Willard or Carnera or Baer but only Max was the good fighter the other two proper stiffs.

If i were to be pressed and rank the best of the 1st phase of heavyweight boxing id go-

    Joe Louis
    Jack Johnson
    J. J. Jeffries
    G. Tunney
    J. Dempsey
    R. Marciano
    F.Patterson
    E. Charles
    J.J. Walcott
    M. Schemling

The Ricky Hatton that got in the ring with Kosta Tsyzu would have walked through Manny, not sure if I still believe this but I did for a long time after it.

Mike Tyson could have been the greatest of all time if he didn't get involved with the wrong people

Prince Naz could have been one of the greats if he didnt retire so young

    and

I though the Film 'ALI' didn't do his great story justice

and I also think Denzel should have played ALI.

And it would have confused the people who thought he was Hurricane Carter.

Tito Trinidad is a cheat and the absolute proof is the Trinidad-Joppy video.

I don't know what that sound is but it's not a gloved fist hitting someone's face. It sounds more like a gavel banging on wood.

Nothing to with the way Tito turns his hooks over as he pivots and turns his hips then? Because to me, despite his sometimes poor foot positioning, is how you get great torque on shots.

I have a feeling he is refferring to the controversy pre-fight with Hopkins where Tito put on more tape around his hands than allowed and was then caught:good
