It would be interesting to come up with a list of 12 round fights that may have ended differently with a further three rounds.

Not sure the other way works really.

    Anyways.....

    McCall would have stopped Bruno
    Collazo would have stopped Hatton
Marquez would have ''officially'' beaten Pacquiao twice
    Mtagwa would have stopped Lopez

    etc.

I'd like to see same-day weigh ins & tests leading up to the fight, weight & drugs.

Ive never seen any evidence that 15 round fights are more dangerous than 12. So many of the top echelon of fights would benefit from the extra rounds, think of what we have missed since 12 rounds were introduced

    140,168 are my favourites.

No need for light fly, superfly (though it sounds cool) & superbantam. Lower cruiser to 190, make heavy 215 then superheavy 216+
    That would be controversially better:deal

I know I've already posted it, but seriously, placing Louis over Ali I just don't get.

I just can't see Louis above Ali. To me, it really is clear cut. I can of course recognise dominance as a factor when weighing things up, but does that truely overhaul the crater between them in terms of the quality of resume? How can Joe compete with Ali regarding depth? Muhammad beat better fighters, and for me looks the superior talent in doing so, while obviously possessing a period of longevity and defences of his own.

I can't see it, no matter what someone's criteria may be.

If you change the weight divisions then Marciano is the best cruiser, Louis the best heavy & Ali the best superheavy. Thats my criteria :D

Louis beat some great fighters too.

Ali doesn't look 'better' he looks different. Louis remains the best puncher I've ever seen (punching form) and is one of the greatest combination punchers if all time as well as arguably the hardest hitter.

In a sport of punching people in the face, I say there isn't anyone who looks 'better' than him :good

I have 'em pretty much joint first due to Louis' dominance, but Alis resume, featuring some of the greatest wins of all time from any weight, puts him at an unshiftable spot at no.1.

No.8 in my top ten P4P.

With 24 hour weigh ins, The Rock might well be the best light heavy of all time ;-)

Louis and Ali ain't far off in size. Louis beat bigger men than Ali, he's as genuine a Heavy as anyone IMO.

How Al Brown ever made Bantam in his day I'll never know. Same for Bob Foster@175 :-(

For ranking you only have to look at Alis record against other top 10-15 all time heavyweights. 2-1 with Frazier, 2-0 with Liston, 1-0 with Foreman. Its hard for Louis to better than that even with a decent number of very solid opponents.

(No, I'm not going to count the Holmes fight!!!)

Oh, and the case of Cristian Mijares moving to bantam proves that super-fly is most definitely a legitimate weight class.

If you were to take one recorded fighter to teach or demonstrate how to punch it would be Joe Louis

Based on resume alone, there is not chance in hell that anyone can place Louis over Ali. Ali simply has the best heavyweight resume of all time, by far. Even glancing a this record you can see great fighter after great fighter on his record, mostly in wins. He is unquestionably the greatest heavyweight of all time, and not even Louis, as great as he was can challenge his claim, and anyone who says any different on the classic forum, or anywhere else can **** right off:good

Just my humble opinion of course:D

Cory Spinks is very underrated due to his lack of power. To have acheived what he did with feather fists is testament to that. 2 weight world champion should have been 3 but for the Taylor robbery and undisputed welterweight champion.
