Holy has a very good shout but, TBH, its more Maricanos HW credentials I've never been that impressed with when comparing the all time cream of the division.

 

LaStarza was world-level class, Walcott had a late prime, Charles is highly regarded & Moore went on as the light heavyweight champ.

His resume isnt his stongpoint imo, its his performances

 

Still, when you are getting compared to Ali and Louis and what they did, LaStarza, an old Walcott and an older light heavweight don't really cut it for me.

I gave Mayorga one round against Cotto and felt that Showtime spunked all over his performance to a ridiculous extent, particularly from the 6th to about the 9th.

 

I gave Mayorga 3 rounds and thought he possibly could have had 4 (IIRC).

 

The 7th is all I could give him. Every other round he was throwing arm puches, often missing, while Miguel caught him consistently with bigger shots. Even during Mayorga's combinations Cotto was landing the superior shots.

 

Haven't watched it since the day. Thought he gave a decent account of himself though, he could have done much worse.

I have him at #9 most days, which is fair IMO.
