Gavin was blown up for both those fights Dan so it shows he wasn't/isn't training as he should be else he would be fighting at 140 not 147.

There's too many drama's in his career, ill this, injured that. All these excuses for questions that shouldn't really be asked this early into his career. Compare him to say Groves. Do you see where I am coming from.

Never once said he should of lost to woodhouse and have seen the fight, he won but looked dire in doing so. Mutley came for a paycheck no doubt and was happy to lose on points. This is the same Mutley that has a fragile chin that Gavin could not dent :good The guy nearly got killed at the Froch v Dirrell fight we went to mate, yet Frankie (the sublimely skilled operator) never has him truly hurt.

B.J.S is far, far better a fighter and will go alot further. Gavin would do well to emulate him and train under Tibbs (just look at Mitchell now as proof of his skills).

I know you are mates with Frankie, Tony and Arnie but you need to look on the outside in sometimes. All 3 are not worth the hype and threads that are made about them.

    :good

No doubt he is talented, but to unearth the talent you need a good trainer. Your word 'could' is poignant personified :good

Degale fought Horton (similar standard to woodhouse and good record) and he got the ko and looked good in doing so, Frankie always looks laboured and totally lacklustre recently.

    :rofl:rofl

The same Tibbs that allowed Mitchell to completely **** around in the build up to the biggest fight of his career.

At least Arnie would know where his biggest charge was sleeping for in the run up to a fight for ****s sake :patsch

Not wanting to join the Arnie love in by any means but didn't he tell David Barnes not to bother coming back one day?

I'm sure he mentioned that to me.....

But not that his fighters diet consisted of beans on toast?

Mitchell didn't go training and wouldn't answer his phone after the fight too, Mitchell had loads of **** to sort out and all the failings before the fight were all his own fault and no-one else's for that matter. On that basis; is it the same Arnie that lets Gavin eat and drink what he wants before fights and that's why he always struggles to make weight?

Mitchell is the man that devastated Murray, beat Khan's conqueror in Prescott and won a belter against Johansenn. His style is now more boxer puncher instead of puncher but at least he has the ability to adapt, something Gavin seems to lack as of late.

Hey I'm not digging on Tibbs here mate, just don't like the way Arnie gets chastised for one thing on this forum but others like Tibbs, Gallagher etc etc get away with the abuse :good

    Exactly.... AS OF LATE!

Give the lad a chance to prove you wrong. Mitchell proved the doubters wrong didn't he:good

Are you for ****ing real. Joe G gets ****ing roasted on here you mad ****er

Tibbs hasn't made many mistakes has he? So there really isn't much to criticise.
Joe is a ***** no doubt (hated the fact he counted his unbeaten trainer run) but he is working wonders with Crolla, Murray (he's limited and got beat by the better fighter in Mitchell) and Macklin and as a trainer that's what he should be judged on, not the goings-on outside of the ring , which to be fair have sweet **** all to do with his ability to train and coach.

I think it's easy to say ''change trainer'', but you've got to consider how the fighter and trainer will get on.

Frankie and Arnie seem to get on really well, not saying they are Billy and Ricky by any means, so there'll be no tales of getting pissed in German hotels and running away without paying :)lol:) but I'd wager that when he turned pro he met with several trainers to see who he wanted to work with.

I doubt Allegedly would just say ''here's the keys to an apartment in Manchester, you'll meet your trainer tomorrow''.

Personally speaking, I wouldn't fancy the move down to London myself. There's too much going on, the accent pisses me off and to be honest I find the locals pretty rude and arrogant. My #1 pet hate!

Edit - Macklin is the same fighter he was under Billy Graham, that much is obvious.

Gavins looked poor for a while now Dan, not as though its a one-off either. He has form now :good

Mitchell was always a top fighter, he jsut ****ed up at the wrong time in a fight that was the biggest he's had. He has never struggled to make weight like Gavin, and he has never had problems changing a fight in his favour, he has always found a way.

Even when he lost to Kats, it wasn't a proper ko was it i.e Khan V Prescott.

Macklin is the same no doubt but under Joe he seems to break fights down better and understand the game alot more. His punditry is very good due to this and I have only really seen this since Joe. Macklin seems calm and settled now and that's a testament to Joe surely.

Luke you should do whatever is best for your career not for your taste and likings. If training in London is best for you then so be it imho. Gavin and Arnie look close but maybe Arnie needs Frankie to boost his rep and credentials and may let him get away with being a joker.

You only get one crack at life, if he wants to spunk away his god-given talent the so be it. But I wont be tuning in to watch it if he carries on that much is for sure.

Yeah but being happy and settled at home is part of doing what's best for yourself, surely?

Unless the money was ridiculous I wouldn't move to London for work.... just wouldn't.

Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield - sure, by all means.
