Handspeed and reflexes are no good if you've got no bottle.

Valuev was very poor indeed but we've got weight divisions for a reason.... even if he is very big for 168 and could easily fill out into 175.

I'd fancy his chances vs Audley - there's a big heavy that he could beat.

Haye did make Valuev look daft but here SNV wouldn't have to worry about what was coming back and could do as he wanted all night. Haye did just enough to throw him off and ended up stealing a decision.

well its a controversial opinion. thats why i put it in the thread. your right haye did keep valuev off of him because of his power. but dirrell is that much faster he could get in and out even if valuev was more attacking. plus valuevs power wouldn't be enough to ko dirrel straight away. he would have to connect a few big shots.

i agree about dirrells bottle though. he just isn't cut out for championship boxing. shame though cus he has a lot of talent. not many guys have his speed and timing. love watching him when he's in full flow!

You are massively overrating Dirrell here and completely underrating Valuev. Not that I think Valuev is particularly good in any way but you're making out as though he would find it impossible to connect with a single shot. And Dirrell carries little power at 168 so him at heavyweight is a truly pathetic prospect. He'd land plenty yes I'm sure but they'd have no effect whatsoever and his reflexes aren't as magnificent as you make thme out to be. Valuev WOULD eventually get to him and WOULD stop him.

God they were awful posts. Seriously, some of the worst I've ever seen

I'm that nocturnal that I've just read through this entire thread, have to say I think it's TOTY so far, better than the Encyclopedia(probably controversial in itself).

Just a diverse range of good debates, horrendously awful, hilariously bad, hyperbole-causingly terrible shouts, metions of Herbzg and Lunny being present make it a great thread. Admittedly, I did skip all the Gavin/Arnie stuff. On top of all that, TFFP calling me arrogant aside, I agree with all posts made by past Jpab.

I suppose I'll have to say something controversial now, so: Suriyan Sor Rungvisai is going to become the best super-flyweight at some point, before the obligatory "shock at super-fly" happens and someone unheralded overthrows him in the same fashion he did to Tomas Rojas.
