Convince me that Cotto has not entered the downslope of his career.

Yes, I would say this is more accurate. We've seen Cotto's natural limits and its frustrating because most of us had extremely high aspirations for him. In retrospect, these expectations were probably unrealistic. He's a great fighter (who may prove to be elite) but not ATG material.

Styles make fights. Its hard to look good against someone like clottey. People thought mosley was shot when he struggled with mayorga in that fight. People said holyfield was on the downside before his fight with tyson.

Mosley is shot, and if not shot, he's definitely no where close to the fighter he was. The win against unloaded and slow as hell Margarito didn't impress me that much that night; Mosley still looked significantly slower and sloppy. He fought hard and of course he gets props for that, but he's getting older and it's showing.

He hasn't, he's just had fighters that are bigger than him bully him. Remember Cotto is a small welterweight, shorter than most. Clottey was a bit bigger and Cotto was cut over one eye, and Margo was much bigger than him.

That's why Cotto will have an easy fight with Pacquiao. He has the skills and has the physical advantages, and is very underrated as a boxer.

Cotto has not looked that good lately, but we don't know the reasons for certain.

He's been fighting the best welterweight lately. Aside from the jennings fight he has fought mosley-margarito and clottey. Those guys were in the top 5 welterweight ranking when he fought them.

Your basis is what? Clottey fight?

Where after the 3rd round intentional headbutt by Clottey. He still managed to outbox and outclass clottey using one eye.

Let's see he destroyed jennings, he beat clottey with a big ass cut. (Name 1 fighter who can look goo against Clottey) I would say he's just fine.

But that's fine, I guess when he got dropped by Torres he was at a downward spiral too huh?
