Convince me that Rocky Marciano beats Lennox Lewis and Oleksandr Usyk

ok. The size difference between Usyk and Marciano is about the size difference between Fury and Usyk, so don’t tell me Usyk is too big. In addition, Usyk seems better against larger men than he does against smaller men, got beat by Beterbiev in the amateurs even. Without his customary stamina advantage, without being able to utilize his little man tricks against some lumbering giant, Usyk is going to be in for a really rough night against a little ball of muscle and insane stamina who hits like a truck.

    ok, how’d I do?

Usyk has had trouble w Beterbiev in the amateurs. Marciano is stronger, better stamina, and better defense than he does, Usyk isn’t fond of the body shots and Marciano is just gonna work him everywhere. Usyk also never went 15 rounds as Lewis never did either. Marciano’s built for that they are not.

as far as Lewis goes. He had trouble w Holyfield. A fighter who’s smaller, pressures and moves constantly. Marciano moves differently but he doesn’t stop moving. He also has more power than Holyfield in each hand and better defense. If Maricano csn manage to not get knocked out he wears him down and eventually lands his suzie q for a KO. Size doesn’t matter against Marciano as he’s proved in his career. Just about everyone was bigger than him and those over 200 he went 11-0 w 11 KOs. So no size wont save anyone

    “49-0. ‘Nuff said.”

Or something. But now that I’ve exhausted my east coast, Budweiser-swilling, aging Teamsters shtick, Lennox is just too big and skilled. Not that Marciano wasn’t skilled, he was terrific. He was terrific and five foot ten and 188 pounds. Lennox is six-five and 235 pounds. Let’s get real here.

Marciano would have a chance against Usyk over 15 rounds

I think it's pretty clear that Marciano would have a good chance with Usyk and would make trouble for him. I'd guess that Usyk's size and speed advantages would get him home though; Marciano isn't beating Lewis and it's pretty hard to find anyone on this forum that believes otherwise.

I like the Rock's chances against Lewis. We just had Usyk defeat Fury in the rematch giving away 55 pounds. Pretty much the same weight between a 188 pound Rocco and a 243 pound Lewis. Lewis never carried his stamina as well as a Fury did, and the pace Rocky sets is going to be troublesome. Add in it's well documented that Lewis could be countered reaching as McCall, a career sparring partner at the time, turned his lights off with a single blow. The Rock was famous for making his foes reach and using his crouch and awkward angles to elude or roll with such blows and unload his fearsome Suzie Q. Now I don't think Rocky could score a 1 punch KO like McCall and for that matter Rahman -although what other ATG heavyweight has had his lights turned out twice by single shots so it's a possibility. But Rocky could stun an overreaching Lewis and then wade in with that two fisted attack from Hell. Lewis would try and get rough and hold behind the head for his uppercut but Rocky's short stature would play to his advantage here as he would be able to roll out from underneath the clinch with his underrated quickness and craft and blast Lewis. I see Lewis fading on the ropes by the 7th with the Ref sparing him further punishment.

Now Against Usyk. Rocky's gonna have to chase but if their was one fighter who could chase all night and keep the pace it's Rocco. Could he close the distance, perhaps he always managed too against men smaller than Usyk. Moore, Charles, Walcott, none could escape the pressure of Marciano. I see Usyk starting off hot but by the later 3rd of a 15 round fight that engine of Marciano just keeps coming. Usyk's blows having lost their steam and not being a big hitter to begin he has nothing for the Rock. He survies to the final bell losing a close 15 rounder. In a fight of the year category.

If you give Marciano the modern tech and reinvent him for 12 rounds (as Charlie Goldman would) he would weigh like 210lbs and still have a high output, on top of his usual explosiveness and punch variety. Not saying he would win (against Lewis anyway, I think he would beat Usyk in this state), but damn would that be a dangerous fighter

Surely you arent insulting Marciano fans for putting fighters with literal PEDs vs some dude in the 40s-earlyy 50s who's most advanced PED was the antioxidants in blueberries?

If Lewis had to fight Marciano minutes after he fought Vitali, I could see Marciano wearing him down maybe.

    OK I will bite.

What sort of fighter would you expect to beat Usyk?

Obviously not one that gives him room to work his evil craft.

The way to beat Usyk is to smother him, and not give him room to work.

Marciano might be teh man to do that.

As for Lewis, the styles are definitely against him.

However he clearly has the power to crack Lewis's chin, and that puts him in the fight.

He can also make Lewis work downhill, and it will be interesting to see how Lewis handles that.

    Marciano-Usik would be intriguing.

But Mrciano just had that extra desire to win.

Marciano would be a small LHW today.. he's not beating either of those two but so what? Great conditioning & heart & power but hes too small here, size matters at some point.. when it has equal if not greater skill..
.. he could land something , course he could.. the great WW Bulldog Mickey Walker (who was smaller than rocky) competed against legit HWs who massively outsized him, so its not unreasonable to completely dismiss someone as equally as great & slightly bigger like Marciano but on balance hed be an underdog against both.

Marciano doesn't sit there and get counted out like Dubois, there was nothing in the reel that looked on the level of Walcott's left hook, Marciano is short and awkward enough to make Usyk pay when he gets inside

Lewis idk, Marciano could end up cut like vs Charles, he could also wear a complacent Lewis down with more than enough power to sleep him in deep water
