Looking forward to this fight more than any on Saturday evening .... im a fan of Cookie hes gutsy but am concerned as I wish he had an easier defence than this ... I also like Martinez he looks very very good and his last two victories I have seen against Estrada and Benavides were impressive hes quick and packs a decent right hand my wallett will be on Rocky but my heart will be with Cookie ... Any thoughts on this fight ?
If Martinez is any cop he should beat Cook. Him getting destroyed by Luevano is still fresh in my mind. That win against a lethargic looking Alex Arthur did not convince me he's anything other than a short term beltholder.
Not seen much of Martinez so this fight is pretty open in my estimations. Cook is a good fighter but below championship level and I honestly expect the same of the opponent.
seen him fight on setanta, he capable of making it a interesting test he likes to fight is rugged and has decent ability and has good strength and good enough power to hurt cook, cook will be backed up and will have to mix it up not just go on run, really interesting fight, i can see martinez winning as long as he comes correct and doesnt do what he did in benavides fight and just brawl. he seems hot headed type fighter.
