“He fights people no one else will fight. As long as it doesn’t have scales or breathe fire or live underwater or have tusks or a mane, Chucho will make the match.” - Jim Murray (LA Times) This is a really cool quote, but it got me thinking, who really would "fight anyone"? And by anyone I mean anyone within reason, so we're not expecting Willie Pep to fight Joe Louis or anything. Who comes to mind? Harry Greb is an easy one, so I'm taking him off the table by naming him now. But who else comes to mind when you read that quote?
Iran Barkley. Over the course of 13 fights, he fought Kalambay, Hearns twice, Duran, Nunn, Benn, and Toney.
Ali. He was still a kid when he fought the scariest man alive in his time Liston. He fought everybody in the hw division there was. Sam Langford also.
