I was kinda wondering about his somewhat longer absence from the ring... Maybe since his 2 losses he was no longer seen as the shining rising star of HG by Craig....
He was injured in a motorbike accident a few weeks ago which forced the cancellation of his scheduled bout on the undercard of the Green-Jones Jr.
Maybe he wasn't a shining star to begin with? Talented yes, but up to some of the outlandish wraps he was getting from people - no... I don't know Craig personally, but I heard he runs a good, focused ship and that is evident by the results of Chris John and Jackson Asiku. May be Willie isn't up to the required level of committment to move forward? Only my opinion, hopefully Craig comes on here as he does from time to time and enlighten's us all to the reasons, or to quash the rumour...
No problem with Craig. He really done a lot for his boxers. Maybe it is a dissipline problem from Willy and he have to work on it. You can visit his gym and you will be see he is one of the best trainers and he know how to work with all his boxers. If the rumour is there it might be that he just put his foot down and demand dissipline and then he will move the world for his boxer
Sent packing...he was a great boxer showing skill in the ring, Whamo' a fluke ko by elomar then thrown in the ring on unfamiliar ground. Was once on top of his game then thrown in the deep end lacking power and confidence, no wonder he is where he is today.
Yeh I dont have a big problem with Craig and his methods. But Cool Willy was a real talent. I dont think Elomar was a "deep end" fight. Lets hope that Cool Willie is not the next Cliff Samardin....
The one thing that Kickett has on his side is youth, time will tell whether he can get back in and give it a good crack. God knows he has the talent
