In 1988, Foreman scored a TKO4 over a heavyweight named Carlos Hernandez who weighed 225 pounds and was 18-5-1. Hernandez fought from 82 to 88, so likely it is somewhere in this time frame. Perhaps Cooney was sparring with him to prepare for either Spinks (whom he fought in 87) or Foreman (whom he fought in 90). It also could have been one of Cooney's early 80s fights. Gerry looks pretty young and fresh and peppy and snappy in this footage. You really get a sense for his size, height and reach. The dude was a huge 6'6" so he made Hernandez look small.

I was in attendance at the Foreman-Hernandez fight in Atlantic City, a couple days before Tyson-Spinks. This isn’t that guy.
