This was a vicious looking KO over a nobody fighter. Foreman gets too much credit for this KO. Sure, it looked devastating (and it was), but who did Foreman beat here? There were plenty of good, strong, ACTIVE fighters out there at the time, guys like Razor Ruddock or even Frank Bruno, guys who would have been a much tougher test for Foreman. Foreman's camp picked Cooney for a reason.
again ruddock.... who ****ing hell did beat ruddock? ruddock was nobody, every great fighter that he faced destroyed him, even morrison destroyed ruddock, simple. this foreman would absolutely destroy ruddock and the ****ing bum glass chin bruno.
obvious, any fighter is better in his prime, but still he was a skinny, he was more active but i do not think that he was stronger in his prime.
Cooney would have had a better career with a different trainer. Victor Valle always had worked with slick boxers before Cooney. Clancy would have had Gerry a more well rounded polished fighter.
