****** played a blinder in getting the Fury's on board as they will put bums on seats for the next copperbox show in April. I watched it on Boxnation and really enjoyed it and I thought the Fury's stole the show and Frank Buglioni looks a star in the making. If Buglioni fought that guy a year ago he would have struggled and went the distance, but he's came on leaps and bounds and got the KO last night. Chisora got a good win as well in another dogged performance. I expect it will be a great bill on April with Dereck and Tyson again, Billy Joe will be fighting for the European title and Buglioni, Hughie and Skeete will be in with better opposition.
Agree 100% How Frank reckons it would be a stadium fight is beyond me. He has lost the plot. Thought the bill last night was garbage. Pretty clear Chisora and Fury don't want the rematch. Really disappointed with the Copper Box if they had a decent card it would fill up.
The organisation last night was a ****ing **** take, W@rren needs to sort himself out. We went down to support Billy Morgan and obviously watch Chisora/Fury.... Morgan was the first fight on the bill, was meant to start at half 5. We were there for 5, to which we were told it's been pushed back until 6.. no real explanation as to why. So we're all queuing freezing are tits off, look through the window and there's Morgan fighting!! Everyone pretty much stormed the gate after that and we missed the first 2/3 rounds. Joke.
Was a disgrace, people paying £50+ for a ticket to support Billy.. family/friends etc and they allow the fight to start with us all standing outside. Clueless
I only booked my tickets at the start of the week and there wasn't much choice of seats on eventm's website so I thought it was sold out yet all around me on the top tier there were empty seats. Many whole blocks of seats were empty all night. It's a shame as I think it's a great venue. That's out of order about Billy Morgan's fight. Shambolic.
I get this feeling as well- the fight makes little sense ranking wise and will likely not garner that much attention. Wilder vs either man is a far more intriguing fight.
I'm sure this fight sold out.. It doesn't really matter if all the fans were in at the same time. Most important thing is revenue.. As for fans staying.. Most casual fans find boxing boring so go along to watch their fighter then leave.. Seen it at so many shows
It was 'sold out' probably in that loads of 3rd party ticket sites etc bought bulk amounts...but then they never sold all their tickets so the arena was full or 'sold out' in attendance
bought tickets on the door with no problems at all it was a decent night, got what i expected. A decent domestic card with ******s top fighters in tune-up bouts, were you lot hoping for fireworks? my only gripe with the Copperbox was the fact you couldnt use card at the bars so once i run out of cash i couldnt have any more pints
I agree, see that all the time with fans leaving after their man has been on. I watched it on the TV but my brother went with seven others in the £50 seats, he said that there was empty seats dotted all over, all of them moved forward to floor seats (2nd row behind the inner ringside seats) pretty early in the evening and didn't get moved on, he said it sounded very flat in there, although I thought it sounded pretty lively on the TV.
