Copperbox attendance?

That's an interesting suggestion but I think it's a non starter.
Most boxing fans see attending the boxing as a night out.

I live in Central Scotland and anything on around here is pretty well served by public transport, although if a card was still running at midnight that might be a different story. Personally I am not a big drinker so I usually happy to be the designated driver.

 

Maybe they just pumped some crowd noise in the tv feed?

 

I was there and the attendance was decent for the Fury fight which felt like the main event. This was most likely because it was on at the right time whereas Dereck was on far too late. The big screens kept warning the crowd of the time of the last tube basically asking for an empty crowd for your main event. Typical Frank.

Georgie Kean got good support as did Buglioni, as always.

 

I didn't go, but got an email off a bloke I work with who did this morning. It was his first show in years and his brothers first ever (he's in his 50s).

There summary was a decent night of boxing ruined by the lack of organisation.

Drop a couple of the earlier fights and stick on a shuttle bus from Stratford Station to the venue as part of the ticket price and they'd get go a long way to solving the problems at that venue.

We all know what the solution is. Don't put fecking Bradley skeete on the bill and that cuts out an hour off the running time and means the Chisora fight ends at 11pm instead of midnight.

Shuttle bus from Straford station to venue and back is a great idea and you should email Queensbury Promotions with the suggestion as it's an idea they should explore for the April Copperbox show which is shaping up to be a good one.

Mind you wasn't as bad as the BJS-Ryder show when they were on at around midnight.

People were leaving to get the last trains.

Ideally TV wise here the main event should start at 10pm imo for the domestic shows not picked up internationally.

Miranda Carter has shows often on a Sunday afternoon at York Hall for non-tv cards.

Only ever been to one ****** show, was a good card but it just dragged on massively, think it finished around 1am, most people left around midnight, me and my mates left not long after. Am all for stacked cards but think the shows should really start around 6 and finish around 11.30, with 7/8 fights in there of decent standard with prospects/crowd pleasers/main event

 

When I went for the first show there I noticed plenty of empty seats, but there is a sort of mezzanine level where the bars are that runs around the whole arena and a lot of people hung around there because its a good view and close to the beer

I did notice a large crowd up there at times during Saturdays show, could explain the empty seats.

For the first show people were swapping seats like nobodies business, moving to better views then moving on when seat owners showed up, but there were dozens of seats that were empty for the whole show

 

I noticed that on t.v and it looked f*cking brilliant.

I bet it was a great night :yep

 

Its a shame if it doesnt catch on as a venue for boxing because the views are good all round and theres so much room to move around, if your seat doesnt have the view you wanted you can use this area to get round to other sides of the ring but not be miles from the action

 

Frank has another 3 shows on their, so i hope it catches on as it looks and sounds the part. The next show on April looks like it's going to be a tasty one.
