Yeah this is a direct to **** thread. Always you ****s try to criticize Floyd's resume, who has he beat, what ATG in their prime, who he avoid...etc... Well lets talk about the one fight you Pac faithful continue to bring up, Marco Antonio Barrera, as if beating him makes Pac's resume so much better than Floyd's. I believe the most notable fight in Floyd's early career would be either Genaro Hernandez or as most would say, Diego Corales. Well in my opinion beating Corales is/was a much bigger win than Pac beating MAB. Why?.. cause Chico is better than MAB thats why!! Did MAB have any physical advantages over Pacquiao at all, was he bigger, stronger? faster than Pac? Does he hit harder? Was he young, undefeated? I dont think so. Chico on the other hand was undefeated, bigger, stronger, was a current champion and knocking every Super Featherweight the F-ck out!! Floyd fought Chico at his absolute prime and destroyed him, and what advantages did lil Floyd have over Chico?... none except speed and intelligence. Pac had damn near every physical advantage over slow azz, war riddled, previously defeated, metal plate in the head Barrera! The only surprise was that no one knew who Pac was at the time but I remember it only took one round for my Uncle who had been watching boxing for years to see that MAB was too slow, too predictable and flat footed to do anything with the herky jerky Pacquiao. Sorry pac fans but that win does not put Pac or his resume on some untouchable level, hell Barrera in case you dont know, loss to Marquez, Morales, Pacquiao....and whats that other guy who beat him twice before any of them...oh yeah Junior Jones! Now do me a favor and put MAB, Morales and Junior Jones in the ring with Chico and all of them would get knocked the F-ck Out!! Advantage Mayweather
The same Corrales that got destoryed by Casamayor? That Casamayor guy who was active in the same weight divison as Mayweather, held a title in said divison, but Mayweather couldn't bother to fight? :think At least Pac beat Morales who had wins over MAB and JJ.
look at this ***** making this thread because of the one I did if this is not damage control I don't know what is FACT!
no, that wasn't the same corrales, that's like saying odh beating Chavez , Chavez beating taylor. wow was that the same Chavez that got man handled and pummeled by odh. stop acting like a child ad start using all of you 71 iq points
the only thing you get anyone on here is losing more and more love for this site YOU and you alone are ruining
Corrales was 23 against Mayweather and 25 against Casamayor. He must not have been very good if he declined from 23-25 years of age as much as Chavez did from 27-34 years of age. Try not to hurt yourself or anybody when Pac beats May next month.
While I do think Corrales could beat MAB and there is no doubt it was a great win for Floyd. I feel MAB is a better win because in terms of legacy at the time he was superior to Corrales. Let's look at Barrera's credentials when he fought Pacquiao. - 56 - 3 - 1 - 41 T/KOs 72% rate - Had only lost to two men. With one loss to one being controversial. - Never been stopped or knocked out. - 14 years experience, already had become a big name in Mexico. - Beat former world champions like Carlos Gabriel Salazar, Daniel Jimenez, Jesse Benevidez, Jesus Salud , Naseem Hamed , Enrique Sanchez , Kevin Kelley, Agapito Sanchez. - Had already fought an ATG fighter in Morales 2x - Had successfully defended WBO Super Bantamweight title total of 13x - Coming off a good winning streak including a victory over Naseem Hamed. *(I don't really consider The Ring and Lineal titles to be real belts) Let's look at Corrales credentials at the time he fought Floyd: - 33 - 0 - Undefeated - 5 years experience - Beat world champions such as Robert Garcia, Angel Manfredy , Gairy St-Clair , Dereck Gainer. - Successfully defended IBF S.Featherweight Title 3x - 27 KOs 82% rate So yeah that is why I think Marco Antonio Barrera was a better win. Better title legacy than Corrales, fought more world champions , more established name. So yeah better win in my book for Pacquiao but it does not take away from Floyd's great win over Chico. Both are ATG performances.
