I don't say it, GunBoat Smith says it was.You say you don't have a lot of time to post here? I recommend you use some of that time learning to read! While you're at it you might pay some attention to your spelling too!Lol

Fitz also said he had a stiff punch. So Fitz knocked out Corbett's gold tooth and pulled it out from his glove thumb? What round? Not buying that one.

Corbett hit hard enough to floor Fitz. Fitz held on because he was hurt, then went down, and got a bit of a long count. You can see Siler and the time keeper argue about the time on film. Maybe if you watch the films, you'd see some of these boxers options really don't match up with what happened. If Fitz wasn't hurt, he would not be down as long as he was.

I am busier these days. You continue to pick and chose at ANYTHING that makes Johnson look bad. It only makes you look biased and wrong.

Smith wasn't in the fight, he was just a novice sparring partner who knocked Johnson silly, and judging by the papers at ringside, Ketchel nearly did the same as Johnson rolled over, braced himself to get up, was off balance, and according to the primary press at hand was dazed. Jack himself said Kethcel could hit. He's lucky Ketchel who took punishment only landed two solid blows, which brings us to ask the question about Johnson chances vs a good heavyweight puncher? Not so good, he just did not have the chin and was forutune to fight weak opposition. Well, he skried the best opposition, so perhaps he was smart by doing that.

Johnson struggling with super middleweight types is nothing new.

Choynski KO'd him cold. O'Brien likely outboxed him. And Ketchel floored him. Could you imagine such a thing happening to any heavyweight champion post Maricnao?!

Key point, the story of the fix grew after Ketchel's death. Hmmm...

You really need to learn to read.I never said Fitz pulled Corbett's tooth out of his thumb you dunce! I have the fight reports of the Corbett Fitz bout and I've seen the film and bought it many years ago.Fitz knocked out one of Corbett's gold teeth and I posted the primary source that confirms it. I know you don't know what a primary source is because you have never produced one ,despite frequent requests that you do so!
I produced Fitz's verified opinion of Corbett's power and that of Sullivan , you produced nothing!

BTW Fitz knocked out the gold tooth in the 13th round
    Round13
"Despite Corbett's fancy sparring and ducking Fitz landeda right to the body and a left to the face ,catching Corbett flush on the mouth and loosening one of his gold-filled teeth.Vicious in-fighting followed with both exchanging hard lefts to the body.In follow up dparring Corbett spit out the loosened tooth"."Bob Fitzsimmons," Pollack page 385.

The story of a possible fix was in the newspapers the same week of the fight! Johnson ko'd Ketchel with his very next punch that's how dazed he was!lol Take a look at your post it's time you went to night school to learn how to read and write to the level of a 10 year old my Grandson's can do both better than you!
