Training too go 20 rounds Kovalev would probably come into the fight around 10 to pounds 15 pounds lighter then his normal fight weight.

It goes the distance with Corbett winning a split decision in a fight not unlike Hagler v leonard. Corbett puts on a great show of out boxing kovale for a good portion of the fight, but at times he's forced to cover up along the ropes and looks as if he's hurt. Kovale pins Corbett in the corner s and fires away but James escape s and resumes his game. At the end of the fight quite a few have gone for Kovale but it's Corbett by split. Good entertainment from both men. When asked about a rematch Corbett smiled and replied "oh no no rematch. The next fight s going to be nice easy one. Guy name of fitzsimmons, shouldn't take me long to dispose of the old man!"

    Corbett.
Kovalev can fight for sure but for some reason he now gasses after 6-7 rds not sure why.
Modern fighters with there conditioning coaches and personal chefs seem to be pushed going 12 rds let alone 15 or 20.
Personally i think all the other athletic type training is taking away from there regular boxing training too much.
Fifteen rd fighters didnt have conditioning trainers they ran about 5 to 8 miles a day and did plenty of work on the various bags table work sparred and sometimes walked in the evening. No altitude masks ect ect. Good old boxing training more fights coming up and they were conditioned to go 15 or more.
Dont know why these guys dont go back to the basics.

Kov can't take it to the body. That's why he gassed. That last punch was low as the ref stepped between the fighters. All others I saw were on the belt line. Certainly none hit in the groin.
