I’ve just seen this is on the Bellew/Usyk undercard, it’s an interesting fight and a pretty clear sign that Eddie has given up with cardle and he is on steep decline, this is only Cordina’s 9th fight surely no where left for Cardle to go if he loses ? It seems like he has given up any ambition of achieving anything above British ? I have wondered why Hearn has stuck with him ?

I think Cardle was the first, if not one of the first, signings Hearn made so there's probably some sentimental reasoning behind his persistence. I remember a year or two ago someone here mentioned that Cardle only sold about 50 tickets for a show as an under carder so it is surprising that he has stuck with Cardle.

Cardle isn't on the decline, he was just never that good to begin with.

Cordina should stop him with relative fuss

I think it's at the stage now where Hearn just sees him as a good opponent for his up-and-comers. A domestic level gatekeeper.

He was a highly rated amateur and has never really translated well, I get what you mean but I would say lately he is on the decline from what he was quite good at to begin with he had fast hands but they seem to have gone, he would always bleed but never looked in great trouble early on now he looks very vulnerable whenever he is hit.

I never really rated Scotty and his British title reign was quite lucky in all honesty. Corsica hasn't rushed much and should batter him, despite their amateur pedigrees being similar.

I also agree with the above, that Hearn must keep him out of sentiment given he isn't very good and couldn't sell out his back garden.

Does anyone think that Cardle is punch drunk?

In his IFL interview after his last fight he sounded really slow - not sure if he's always been like that?
