Well, it seems that Ricardo Cordoba has just insulted Cuban amateur legend Rigondeaux by saying that he will send him back to the amateurs. You know, this is always the same thing with the Cubans. The professional fighters think that because they are pros that they cannot be defeated by an " amateur ". Ricardo Cordoba will battle 2 time Olympic Gold medalist and 7 times World Amateur Champion, Cuban legend Guillermo Rigondeaux on the Pacquiao-Margarito undercard this Saturday for the vacant WBA interim World Title, if Rigondeaux wins ( of course he will ), he will make history as one of the few to win a World Title in 7 pro fights.

What really frustrates me is when I hear these statements about the Cuban amateurs. It seems that Cordoba ( 37-2-2 ) doesn't really know who Rigondeaux is or what he is capable of doing. Rigondeaux, only lost 1 fight in 10 years at the absolute highest International amateur events, and he avenged that loss later. I just can't stand when these so called " pros " insult the Cuban amateurs turned pro, well I guess he will know on Saturday why they call Guillermo the best P4P fighter of the amateurs of the last decade.

The funny thing is that Cordoba is training with 2 former Cuban amateurs in Luis Franco and Yan Barthelemy, but even with them he will not find " El Chacal " the whole night... :-(

What do you guys think ???

    You got Cordoba's record wrong, he's 37-2-2.

Anyway, come on Maestrito! Yes we can!:bbb

I have a feeling Cordoba might be eating his words (and a lot of Rigondeaux's gloves) on Saturday night. I like Rigondeaux, he's talented as hell, it's just a shame it took so long to see him in the professional ranks.

You have to wonder how different boxing history would be if the Cubans didn't ban their fighters from turning pro.

I can't wait to finally see Rigo against a legitimate world class fighter. I definitely think he's gonna win.

I'm sure after a few rounds on Saturday, Cordoba will be wishing Rigo had stayed in the amateurs. This is a special fighter and, although he doesn't have time on his side, this could be the first step to big things.

I think Cordoba knows what he's up against, and knows he's going to be the one sent to the amateures after the schooling Guillermo is going to give him.

It's just a last resort at trash talking to get under Rigons skin, to hopefully take him out of his game plan. I expect some more trash talking during the weigh-in as a last attempt to get on the Cubans nerves.

    I actually think Cordoba wins:oops:

Maybe I'm biased because I've been a big fan of his for years but this guy is a VERY good fighter and Rigo's only had six fights so you never know:conf
