I will admit the fight was not a normal boring Spinks fight. But a lot of that had to do with Latimore I think and not Spinks.

I respect Spinks as a fighter.

I don't agree how he gets robbed and people just justify it with "he's boring". It's not right. The kid trains his ass off and gets punched in there, the least he deserves is a fair go.

You can start respecting him by spelling his name right.

What the hell is it all about then. You watch a fight to be entertained. I don't know anyone that watched just to pass time

I watch because I love the sport and can appreciate the sweet science also entertaining is subjective.

True. Cory gets so much undeserved hate. He fights well but I think he has been standing in the pocket more often not because he wants to be more entertaining but because he has lost a step or two.

Ruiz is boring any way you put it though. And Charlie Z does not deserve respect. Aside from that I agree.

Cory fought his ass off against Latimore. It pains me that he's going to hold that belt hostage waiting for Mayweather, but I've got to give him his due. That was a great effort, especially from a guy with no power.

The kind of respect I have for Spinks is the same respect I have for Ivan Calderon.. Featherfisted fighters like them have to fight the perfect fight in all of their outing just to win a decision and for that, I respect them. They may be boring but they are using what they have to get the job done and u can't hate on that.

I would never get out of my way to watch their fights but i do respect them alot.

After the trainwreck of a ring entrance for the Judah rematch & the way he cries like a baby it's hard to even take him seriously.

I honestly don't find him bad to watch :huh

And I don't mean in a pretentious "I enjoy the sweet science" type way, he's just not actually that bad at all compared to people like Ruiz and others that are completely out of shape and can barely muster up punches

Spinks was quick as hell a few years ago, and threw a lot of punches. He was never in danger of knocking anybody out but he threw punches and showed some fun moves. I don't think we should be harsh on him for not getting hit in return, thats the aim in there :?

I like Spinks. Why should the guy have to fight to please? If he did that he'd be a nobody not a multi-class titleholder/champ.

    Well said.

He did run a track meet though in the last few rounds against Mayorga, that one I can't forgive. When he got knocked down in the 12th and the ref called it a slip I was irate.
