I watched the Corley fight with Mayweather and this is the only fight where Floyd got a bit flustered. If you rewatch the fight you will see.

I can see why he does not want to go in with Margarito, forget skill level, he got shook by Demarcus Corley, if he can do that then what the hell would Margarito do or even Paul Williams or even Pacman for that matter.

Mayweather knows how far his skills can take him but to beat some of the bigger guys I think his skills will be at question.

Only answer if you saw Floyd flustered for a few seconds of that fight. I think that Pacman with straight lefts would give Floyd tons of problems, I dont care how much skill he has, I dont think he will return as the same fighter if he does finally return and I think if he takes a risk he will pay the price.

    What do you think ?

Well Corley fights nothing like Pac and Mayweather was stunned in the 4th, he was fine in the 3rd.

And he was stunned b y a right hand not a left.

Mayweather vs Pacquiao is the worst fight that can be possibly made. Manny would be humiliated the disparity in skill level would be that big. Mayweather needs to prove himself against the best Welterweights in the world, and he must be stupid not for doing it already, does he not know he would get all the credit in the world for doing so? Clearly not, and neither do his fans who think fighting Baldomir and Hatton at 147 is ample enough to be called the best Welter in the world.

Pacquiao needs to have a third fight with Marquez, and Mayweather needs to come out and take on the man at 147, which in my humble opinion, would be Margarito at this point.

Pac definately as the tools to gave mayweather fits, but aren't we jumping ahead of ourselves is floyd actually coming out of retirement. Secondly pac as to beat hatton first which won't be that easy at 140.

I agree 100% that fight does need to happen and I think that the fight alone would sell itself so I dont really think that a lot would have to be done to actually sell the PPV it would sell itself because there is probably just as many people who want to see Floyd lose and take a beat down as people who want to see Margarito be the man give it to him.

and you have a point, I wasn't suggesting a Floyd return but I think if he did come back he would a lot to contend with but as you said Pac has to get past a tough Hatton fight which I look forward to seeing. 2009 looks bright for boxing.

floyd - margarito would have been the prime fight before pacman demolished oscar, but its going to be pacman when floyd comes back now.

it's just too big a fight to be made.

also, despite the size difference between pacman and margarito, you said pcaman would be humiliated against floyd because of the disparity in skill level.

i'd say, on skill alone, pacman beats margarito hands down. but margo is carved out of wood....

I think that was slightly uncalled for but I can see where your sarcasm stems from. Zab didn't have the timing and we are talking about different styles here, however I was using Pacman as an example but I would have used the bigger welterweights as examples if I had more space to write their names in. i.e. Margarito, Paul Williams. I know this argument keeps getting brought up but this is why we are all on this site to share a viewpoint.

To be fair, Corley is a good underrated puncher and Mayweather simply got carelsss and fought the wrong fight for the 1st four rounds. After that Floyd fought the correct fight and dominated corley from then on out.

No way Floyd would get that carelss and fight tha kind of a fight with the likes of Pacquiao and Margarito.
