He went into the cold of Russia and Ko'd their champ, Chagaev. It's sort of a big deal, took some ***** to go into their backyard.

And Donnel Wade beat Carlos Condit and Osmar Luiz Teixeira stopped Anderson Silva...

Cormier is legit olympic wrestler. I doubt any HW boxer would have a shot against him in an MMA fight without training takedown defense extensively for few years. Horrible match up for someone who relies on striking. Obviously Cormier wouldn't do **** in boxing though.

Chagaev struggled with Fres Oquendo a couple years back, and really hasn't been the same fighter since at least the Povetkin loss five years ago, if not the Klitschko loss seven years ago.

Between the weight gain, the health issues with Hep-B and everything, feasting on weak competition for so long and just getting on in age, beating a 37 year old Chagaev for the distinction of technically holding a belt doesn't make you a top HW in boxing.

Not that boxing's HW scene doesn't suck, but to point out Cormier beating a "champ" is a bit disingenuous. Nobody puts any stock in the WBA title anymore, ever since it was vacated by Povetkin in 2013.

    :good

Cormier would probably stop or submit Browne 10/10 in MMA...but lose on points (or by late stoppage) 10/10 under boxing rules.

But Boxers can beat MMA'ers FULL STOP according to tools like you.

The new WBA champ is a failed cage fighter. According to you, it doesn't take much to excel in MMA!:lol:

Lucas is an über-nice guy, congrats to him. It's guys like you that annoy me though.

I never said that, I don't know where you got that from.

By that logic Fedor is a failed judoka, Conor McGregor, Anderson Silva and Mark Hunt are failed boxers and the likes of Weidman are failed wrestlers. People switch combat sports for variety of reasons.

He was fighting in the cage years ago when he was a nobody in boxing, it's not like he was beating Klitschko while losing to Cormier. He was stopped by a guy who's elite in MMA, like top 5 P4P. In MMA they don't build you up like in boxing, you can face legit fighters early in your career and get some losses. There aren't many fighters in the UFC who has 0 Ls. Guys like Rockhold and Lawler were beaten by random journeymen and went on to become champs.

Had Lucas Browne stayed in the MMA he would probably be in the UFC right now but for some reason he chose boxing, just like many kickboxers end up being boxers, doesn't mean that guys like Vitali are "failed" kickboxers.
