Really people? Really? He beat Barnett and now he should get a title shot? I think he'd need at least two, maybe three wins in the UFC before he gets a title shot.

Cant see if fella, Fedor has no value in the States any more as a draw and it would not do Cormier's credibility much good either

    2 things

Fedor will TKO Rizzo , and Strikeforce have limited credible options

Its still a marketable fight , in a bizarre kind of way

Why ?? , who in the UFC at the moment is on a better run than Cormier

Frank Mir is next in line in the UFC (i understand and respect it was supposed to be Overeem but hey the guys juicing) , that pretty much says it all

Zuffa have a division full of credible opponents...they own Strikeforce...do the math

It's not a marketable fight in the slightest since Fedor lost his 0. The myth is gone, done and dusted. That's why he's fighting Rizzo, Ishi and Monson. He's in the same boat as all of them, past their sell by date

They dont need Fedor, it's not worth the money time or risk. Fedor will not be back in SF and will never fight in the UFC. Id go as far to say he'll never fight in the States again

    He will retire after Pedro.

So this is me assuming you believe the UFC and Zuffa will now allow an opponent for Cormier to fight under the SF banner ?? , if so how ?? , it hasn't happened yet , and if it was going to happen , Gil Melendez would of been the first man to get that treatment , Dana has stated publicly " contracted UFC fighters will not fight on SF cards "

I thought that was common knowledge :huh

It was obvious Fedor wasn't going to fight in the UFC in 2007 , i didn't ever say he was going too , and yes he is done , but he has a name , and SF need a name for Cormier , they need to elevate his status , not have him try and elevate an opponents status the way Fedor can now with crabs like Monson and Rizzo

Om not saying its a good or a bad fight , I'm merely saying its a doable option , which i would expect SF and M1 to be taking seriously

Thats just my take on it

No, Zuffa will allow one of their HW's to fight Dan in SF and satisfy the TV networks before Cormier joins the UFC...

Much more preferable to dealing with M1 again, for not much gain

Im not sure that will happen , they've had ample opportunity to match Melendez and haven't

I have no idea what Cormier's contract with SF looks like now he's the winner of the tourney but i hope he's in the UFC in the next 3 - 6 months

I really can't see Zuffa allowing Cormier to fight Fedor - if only because even when Strikeforce was a lot stronger Fedor was overpriced and today they'd take a major bath financially on bringing him in.

Now if Pedro Rizzo managed to beat Fedor I could see them bringing Rizzo in for a fight.

No they haven't. Since they re-signed, Showtime have a contract with the UFC that lists major Strikeforce fighters and forbids Zuffa from using those fighters on UFC cards. Its one of the reasons Mo went with Bellator - it was made clear that even if he resigned with Zuffa he wouldn't be able to fight in UFC.

And Cormier's contract situation is well known. The heavyweight GP winner has a plus-one fight in Strikeforce to give Showtime some payback on their investment. Given his hand, I'd be surpised if he's fought in the UFC before April next year.
