He has two wins against decent guys (Barnett and Big Foot) who we don't really know what they have. The pool in Strikeforce is way too shallow to draw conclusions. We'll see how Big Foot does tomorrow but I'm not going to get too excited until I see Cornier fight a live guy who isn't ancient by fight standards. The UFC has a few guys that fit the bill.

 

I was referring to Strikeforce cards , not UFC cards !!! i.e. match Melendez with a UFC contender under the SF banner , it hasn't been done , it hasn't been discussed or mentioned ?? , infact Dana has stated it won't be happening

 

Big Foot was despatched in clinical fashion , Josh Barnett even now would rank top 5 in the UFC's HW division

Fringe contenders such as Miocic , Struve , Kongo etc would go into a fight with Cormier an underdog

Like i said Frank Mir is next in line , having fought Cro Cop , Roy Nelson and Nogueirra , Cormier's run is better than Mir's right now , and Mir's fighting for a title , when credentials such as Cormier's pop up in MMA you have to sit up and take notice , and match him accordingly , what he hasn't achieved in ama wrestling isn't worth achieving , add a stand up game to that and he will be a force in MMA

on inside mma cormier was saying he gonna defend his belt in strike force n there guna send some one over to fight him . who should they send??

i think they gonna do big country vs cormier in strikeforce meanwhile i think they might do cain vs junior rematch possibly

ufc is pretty quick on letting u no who the champ is going to fight next so we should be gettign some news soon

According to Dana, Cormier gets an immediate HW title shot when he comes over to the UFC.

 

The way Bigfoot was easily dismantled by a guy JDS destroyed might be a worry for Cormier, JDS is a cut above the Barnett's and Bigfoot's etc...
