Who would have won this matchup in 1983 when Roger was WBA champion and Boza was a top contender.

Mayweather certainly had the speed and power to give Boza all kinds of problems. But what happens if Boza reached the Mayweather chin.

I think Boza would fall behind early, but catch up to Mayweather late for a ko, sometime after the 10th round.

Nah. Mayweather strafes him with counter rights and stops him in the mid-to-late rounds. Boza was struggling with weight by 1983, and most likely wouldn't have had the gas in the tank by the 10th round of a fight like that.

Much as I liked Boza and disliked Mayweather, I think Mayweather would've won this. I didn't see Boza as a huge puncher or someone who hit guys with shots they didn't see coming. I don't see a stoppage either way but Boza gets stopped before Mayweather IMO. I'd say 10-5ish Mayweather.

I feel about the same. Boza had great heart and courage, but he was very hittable. One of those big Mayweather rights probably would've iced him at some point.

At S/ Feather both could be KO'd, but I'd say Boza was the better of the 2 at 130. So I'll go with the Ugandan.

I don't know. Lockridge iced Mayweather with one roundhouse right hand. Lockridge was not a big puncher at 130.

Mayweather by a split decision, I could see Boza flooring Roger, but Mayweather mircaculously getting up to survive.I don't think Cornelius could keep him down for the duration to take advantage, and Roger being the younger fighter.

Boza by KO in 3. Way too hard a hitter from Sthpaw for weak Roger. Boza takes care of the Mayweather gym btw and is Rogers constant companion. Glad for Boza. He was an ultraexciting fighter during the era of the most exciting 4 kings. LimonNavaratteChaconBoza and w an *Choi

Didn't know he works with the Mayweathers. Totally different personality than the brash Roger and Floyd Sr. Boza always let his fists to the talking. He was my favorite fighter in the mid '80's. My other handle on here is Boza81.
