My favorite fighter through out the entire contender series is looking to be the most successful fighter of them all. Goes from being the last to be picked when teams were being made to finishing third in the show to winning a world title and defending it. Got a clear cut decision against Powell last night avenging his 1st round loss to him years back. Revenge is bliss especially since K9 was the betting underdog going in. Have to enjoy his story, goes from a poor rugged background filled with crime and turns to boxing to get away from that life. He is the closes top fighter in the sport that resembles this guy imo. Yeah can't help but root for K9. I never would have guessed he would have been anything after that loss to Powell in 19 second or the terrible terrible drubbing by Joel Julio so good for him. Now I hope he gets the big fight with Canelo and gets a share of the purse that reflects his achievements.
K-9 deserves this success. Even in Detroit and at the Kronk, like the Contender, the dude was not a top of the totem pole guy. But he is up there now. He deserves everything he has gotten. He has worked his arse off and persevered. I would think, the Cotto fight would be the best. Manny working with Cotto, the unification aspect. Somebody show K-9 The Money!
