This happens too much in boxing now a days. That was stupid. There was only 10 seconds left on the clock and then Davidson goes and stops it. Let your fighter show some courage man. Lara was being dominated and you threw away the fight just cause of one punch.

It was the right decision. Did you want to see Wood seriously hurt ? That’s what would have happened even if there were 10 seconds left. When the towel came in Wood was about to fall over. It was the right decision.

This is professional boxing. You can’t throw the towel in every time your fighter gets knocked down or gets hurt. Let him try and recover. If the fighter gets knocked down again then you can throw in the towel.

Wood was steady on his legs. Boxercise Ben just loves the attention. So glad Fury dumped his fat ass

No. He saved Woods career and maybe more. Wood was stiffed leg when he went down and look at his reaction to the towel. Delayed reaction by Wood to the towel despite it coming in right in front of his face / eyes. The stoppage was 100% fine and justified. Everyone is just bragging about it because only 10 seconds were left in the round. The ref did everything he could to bring Wood out of the round but even he knew Wood was done.

Log off dude...that wasn't a classic Knockdown ...that was a guy going down stiffed leg and having a delayed reaction to a freaking towel coming in right in front of his face....because his ****ing brain was FRIED .

Greatest towel I've seen in my life.

Only Fury has the ability to survive when hurt that badly because he's an oranguntan clincher.

Wood was utterly done and all over the shop. No need to let him take some unnecessary punishment. They can rematch down the line.

The referee doesn't have to accept the towel. Him and Davidson obviously saw something we didn't.

I think it wasn't the right call... and I don't agree it was an unusually hard knock down, don't agree he didn't know where he was, ect.

I think Ben should have let the 9 seconds elapse so he could take a closer look I'm the cornet.

That being said I don't think he's pathetic, just think he was trying to protect his guy and maybe made a bad call in the heat of the moment.

Agreed wood deserved a chance to sit on his stool and get evaluated. Could always stop it after a minute goes by

To be fair, It took Lara a moment to understand the towel came in too. I didn't see much difference in terms of both men's reaction time.

On the one hand you want to see a Champion have every chance of recovering and letting the fight come to its natural conclusion, especially when they’ve won most rounds midway through the fight.

On the other hand, you don’t want to see any fighter who looks concussed walking forward with their hands down toward a fighter like Lara who throws every punch with bad intentions.

High probability he would have been KO’d very soon if allowed to continue.

Watching it live I thought it was a good stoppage but watching it back now, considering its a world title fight and he actually got his wits about him with 13 seconds left in the round …. Wth was Ben thinking? If he is going to go to sleep in the last 13 seconds, take that chance.

Yeah, there is a terrible trend in boxing for corners and refs to prematurely end fights - and, sadly, for increasing numbers of boxing fans to applaud this.

Except in very exceptional circumstances, fights should be decided IN the ring, by the fighters and their fists, period.
