Totally false I recall Chico being floored twice spitting his mouth piece out twice then getting instructions from his trainer which is also against the rules....

Look he fought a great fight and I respect Chico but sometimes wrong is just ****ing wrong.

    Truth.

Thirty extra seconds mattered a **** load more than a point.

Sorry what was wrong about what he did? It not illegal, he was punished by the ref, what is the problem?

What he did was no different than voluntarily taking a knee, as for the advice from the corner, please, Goosen didn't tell him ****. I believe he said something like "You have to do it now" or something like that.

Illegal would be having plaster in your wraps. Spitting out the mouthpiece would be in the same category as excessive hugging, I guess you could say frowned upon and not encouraged.

I am confused how this is an issue, yet none of you all talk about Tito and Cotto's much worse offenses of nailing people in the balls when the **** is getting rough.

Yup thats exactly my point, what he did was illegal thats why they took a point but taking a point is not as meaningful as getting an extra 40 secs to recover along with advice from your trainer which is also illegal

if you can lose points or get a DQ from it then its illegal bottom line dont try and bring Tito or Cotto into this, this is a discussion on this fight specifically

Well if a referee like Tony Weeks takes a point away it's because is illegal don't you think? That's all I'm saying.

For all intents and purposes what is the difference between spitting out the mouthpiece and taking a knee. Both are methods of buying time right?

If Corrales had taken a knee would you all say that taking the knee damaged the fights legacy?

No taking a Knee would have been the right thing to do

If you just stop and take a knee after two knockdowns, most refs are going to wave it off.

I can't imagine Corrales taking that kind of a risk in that situation.

No they wont. Especially if the fighter seems to be sound and it trying to buy time, see Cotto - Margarito.

As for the knee or the mouthpiece, since the same thing would have happend, time would have been bought a point deducted, I don't see what the issue is.

A little because obviously it saved him from being knocked out which in turn allowed him to knock out Castillo. However, Castillo got his revenge in number 2 with the help of those 3 pounds. So it was 1-1 in fights and 1-1 in gamesmanship. All squared up.
