Anyone see any similarities between the two?

Both South American, both had good upsets over the course of their careers, both were very, very light early on in their careers and gained in the neighboorhood of 50 pounds... Both big punchers, both were tough but not invulnerable...

    Hmm.

    Who'd win in a fight?

corrie sanders only lost one fight by knockdown. the other two times he would simply not go down and was saved by the ref. the amount of punishment he took against vitali would have put most fighters down- he has a very good chin. he is the far more dangerous puncher, i think over 20 of his wins came by ko in the first two rounds. his stamina isn't the best but he wouldn't need it when he knocks coetzee out cold in the second using his incredible speed and killer instinct.

    :D

I'd imagine Sanders would be a little too quick and powerful for Coetzee, and I'm far more of a Coetzee fan so it kinda hurts saying that.
Frankly, neither man really reached their potential (imo) and that's a bit of a pity.

Corrie Sanders is the Gerrie Coetzee of his time, when you think of it. They're both South African heavyweights with big power, the differences being slight, with Sanders being a southpaw, and possibly being a bit faster and a bit older in his prime. Both have suffered ko losses to other rival heavyweights. Coetzee couls be just as deadly in his strike with his bionic right hand as Sanders is with his left. For a while Gerrie could take a punch rather well, but soon became more vulnerable. I guess if I had to choose between the two, it would likely be Sanders who would get home with his left quicker and would likely win in 2 rounds or less.
