At the end of his career, he was no athlete, his belly was so big that he couldn't just avoid being flatfooted and that did cost him. But he had an excellent timing and a thunderous left counter like both Klitschkos experienced and the nickname suits him, the sniper, hell yeah.

Like a heavyweight Zab Judah, only he did have the toughness and IQ. Just not the discpline and I guess the desire to be great.

even though he neglected to train for his bout with vitali and he was blown up like a beached whale, he was still quicker than vitali for the first 3 or 4 rounds. in his early days, when corrie kept his weight under control, his combinations were awesome to watch.

he did have great timing. that counter left hand was his biggest weapon. they didnt call him the sniper for nothing.

A young Sanders had a ton of raw talent. That was an awesome highlight video.

Threw the hardest straight left I have ever seen at heavy live. Morrison had a better left hook but not straight left. MM is the only other guy to have a straight left with concussive power like that.

Sanders was a beast, and had crazy speed for a HW - as well as fight-ending power. He gave Vitali the toughest fight of his career. It's the only time I've seen Vitali look intimidated in the ring. A focused and disciplined Sanders could have gone undefeated. He was that talented.

I completely disagree to be honest.

A man is judged on his career.

Sanders did not have a great career.

The wlad he beat was not the number 1 in the division. He was not the master he is today.

He was outlasted by rahman and vitali in his other fights at the top level.

His big fight was, in reality, vitali. That was the unification and he blew it.

Atleast guys like rahman, douglas and braddock took their opportunity when they were fighting for the right to be the best in the world.

Sanders victory over wlad is more comparable to the mccall victory over lewis.

If he was great he'd have had a great career.

I saw him fight Vitali in person. He had the most amazing left hand haymaker I've ever seen. He seemed to punch a lot harder than Vitali.

Even if he undercheived, at this point, he's still the only guy to outclass Wlad; Purrity and Brewster mostly outlasted him.

Then I don't see how your points are valid.
You're talking about what he did do, the reality, the rest of us are talking about what could have been if he loved the sport and had hunger.

    Completely different.
