corrie sanders had the raw talent to become an ATG

It doesn't surprise me one bit that Corrie Sanders wasn't always focused on his boxing career and didn't give it a 100%. There's no doubt this guy was a born fighter with lots of natural talent. Look at his style - awkward southpaw with good physical attributes (speed, power, chin...), but hardly fundamentally sound boxing skills. Why train hard when you can win fights on talent alone? Such freaks of nature often tend to overestimate themselves and not train hard. That's why Sanders was a pretty good HW, but not a great one. Could have been much more, but his KO win over Wladimir nobody can ever take from him.

 

sad seeing him in that shape in Vitali fight. i cant excuse not have determination in a boxer. Not being in shape for a boxer is a cardinal sin and even against wlad Sanders wasnt in tip top hape. real shame if you can see him when he was younger.

 

A 100% dedicated Sanders would have been in the mix with the top 4, no point arguing so I'll leave it at that.

 

He made it to number 2 in the division.

He was never good enough to make it to number 1.
