    Corrie Sanders was gunned down at a party near Pretoria, South Africa last night, aged 46. He died in hospital this morning amid a welter of tributes from all over the world. Earlier this month, playing in a golf day (he had a handicap of 3), he said: “I thought that I could have gone for a shot at a world title much earlier. I always felt that my promoter, Rodney Berman, kept me wrapped in cotton-wool for too long, and by the time I got my shot, I was already 38."
