R.I.P. Champ, we'll never forget your greatest moments in the ring. Lived like a man, and unfortunately died like one way too soon while protecting his daughter. Moderator note: Anyone disrespecting Sanders or turning this into a racist thread will get a lengthy or even permanent ban. Be warned.
Lennox Lewis‏@LennoxLewis To my friend Corrie Sanders. May you Rest In Peace brother. #senseless
Utterly senseless. I have been a huge fan of Corrie's for years. He was a truly unique character in the sport of boxing; a rare natural talent for fighting with explosive power. In a game where fighters often surround themselves with huge entourages and hanger-ons I'll always remember HBO showing him in his dressing room before the Klitschko fight sitting by himself looking totally relaxed and comfortable being totally alone. He was a family man who listed the births of his children first on the list of his many accomplishments. And its even sadder that this horrid event had to be witnessed by his family that he loved so dearly and while trying to shield his daughter. Rest in peace Corrie. You were a man in the truest sense of the word.
His mistake was not leaving South Africa the only 'civilized' country in Africa, espically sub-saharan, and it's still a cesspool. Should've moved to Europe somewhere.
So much for all the 'goodwill' from the world cup. If you have money get out of SA, leave the natives to their own devices.
Yeah, there have been a number of threads, but this ****ing sucks. What a tragedy. RIP Corrie. Thanks for the memories, champ.
