I was shocked and not expecting this AT ALL when I saw it on the scene. Sanders certainly left a great legacy behind with his KO of Wladimir, great war with Vitali, and his Rahman defeat. Be proud. I am truly saddened by this.
****! I love SA but its so dangerous, unreal and sad how many people get shot over there. Corrie tried to survive for 8hours, thats typical for him, to never give up... RIP Champ
Christ what a shock! Terrible news, just terrible. I know he gets a lot of stick on here, but Sanders was, IMO, one of the most naturally talented heavyweights of the last few years. Lightning fast hands and killer knockout power. Despite not living up to his potential he had a fine career and one of the best underdog wins of any heavyweight since Buster Douglas, in his knockout of Wladimir. And from what I heard he was doing fine with his life after boxing. Just goes to show that nothing in life is certain. RIP Champ
The poor man was sitting in a restaurant having a meal. WTF kind of shithole is that? Scum robbing restaurants for a few rand and shooting people.
Terribly sad news! Puts a downer on the day! Also agree with Butch C, about talented he was! His achilles heel was his poor stamina [well demonstrated in the Rahman fight, were he looked like he'd stop him in the early rounds but underestimated Rahman's chin, and punched himself out.
What a absolutely classless thing to say. I'm a Vitali fan and in no way do I take this news with pleasure, nor do I suspect I'm the only one. Seriously, I recommend you get medical help if you consider that comment to be in any way appropriate.
This poster is a total disgrace. I'm certain Wlad is devastated to hear this news as I'm sure he held Sanders in very high regard.
