I think Povetkin weathers an early storm to come back and stop Corrie mid-rounds. Rahman was good enough to stop Corrie, and Povetkin was always a level above him.
Maaaan. I like both these guys. If Sanders fights his usual fight from behind the jab and waits for the counter, it could be a long night for Sasha. On the other hand Povetkin has good upper body movement and fights well on the inside, where Sanders is not so adept. Everytime I come up with an advantage for one guy (Sanders, more power) a corresponding advantage for the other guy comes up (Povetkin, better chin). Ovah says "Rahman was good enough to stop Corrie, and Povetkin was always a level above him." I say "Wlad beat the living god out of Povetkin, and Corrie stopped Wlad in a massacre" I think I'll go with Sanders, especially if you're talking about his younger faster version, but there's not a huge deal in it. I'm pretty high on Povetkin.
Povetkin more proven. Sanders had the talent for sure and maybe he gets Povetkin early but I can't sell Povetjin who has never been stopped so short and as fight wears on povetkins skill level will show as Corrie tires out.
I like that sneaky left uppercut Povetkin to land on Corrie. He leans into punches with zero head movement and that is a devastating left uppercut Alex throws. Most heavies don't have the balance to fire off a brutal left uppercut. tko 5 or so once Corrie slows down a little and starts to drop those hands.
