I don't think he was. His resume is pretty poor, and the KO loss to Tubbs is BAD, but he has some exceptionally good performances. Flattening decent fringe contenders like Cooper and Czyz is pretty impressive. People wanted nothing to do with him because he was a high-risk low-reward type of guy but he was a prominent sparring partner for many top heavyweights and when he stepped up to fight Rahman he looked dangerous before gassing out, since he couldn't do any roadwork due to a damaged knee. Joshua probably isn't all that much better than Wladimir was in 2003, some would argue he isn't even close to that good. But then again, he may have a better chin to keep him in the fight.
Beating up former cruiserweight Czyz and limited heavyweight Cooper doesn't not make him a B level fighter. Morrison and Rudduck were B level fighters, Purity and Sanders were C level fighters, at best. Anthony Joshua today would annihilate Wladimir Klinchko at any point in Wlad's career... any point. Joshua is miles above Klit. MILES. Klitschko got knocked out by journeymen like Purity and Sanders. Joshua KOs journeymen in the first round. Don't even compare Klit to Joshua, there is absolutely no comparison Joshua is special like a Tyson, Louis, Holyfield, Ali. Klit is ordinary losing to journeymen like Purity and Sanders on his way up and losing to Brewster in his prime.... All of them C level fighters. Horrible.
I made an argument using facts, you make an argument on a your biased opinion. Which one carries more weight in the real world. MINE.
No, Sanders beat Puritty easily, 119-109 or smth like that. Sanders was way better than Dillian Whyte, thats for sure. Whyte is actually fighter who reminds me Ross Puritty in some ways.
