This is somewhat of a pickem fight me. Both guys could be hurt and knocked out. Both guys have exceptional power. Both guys were very athletic. One thing that is an advantage for Sanders is that Joshua really only has one good win against a Southpaw and that was Charles Martin. On the other hand, Sanders was a fairly inconsistent guy to me. He had all the talent in the world and when he was on, looked very good. He had some puzzling performances though.

If I had to put money on it, I would lean slightly towards Joshua. He is still fairly early in his career and outside of the Ruiz loss has been pretty consistent. I would not be surprised to see Sanders and his fast hands blow him out though.

Joshua would have to come with a very effective game plan, since Sanders not only was a southpaw, but had really fast hands. If Joshua stays inside and trades with him he’ll get himself stopped.

Agreed. I could see him fighting like he did in the 2nd Ruiz fight. Staying outside and holding on the inside. If he doesn't do that, Sanders hand speed would take over just like Ruiz's did in their first fight. One thing that I like about Joshua is that he seems like a guy that can learn from his mistakes and do what he needs to do to win. That rematch with Ruiz was a boring fight to watch but I take my hat off to Joshua for doing what he needed to tactical to win.

Ali made a similar adjustment against Leon Spinks in their rematch. He knew he could not trade with Leon and fight at his pace. In the 2nd fight, Ali would flurry on the outside and tie Spinks up on the inside so he could not work. He stuck to that game plan for the whole fight.

This. Joshua does seem very coachable, which in my opinion is sometimes more important than raw talent.

This is a more even fight than it seems. Sanders would find Joshua's chin. He just would. Joshua would need to regroup after that and gain control or he'd end up like Wlad.

Sanders is taller than Ruiz, moves better and probably has longer arms.

A 50-50 fight for me. I might even make Sanders a slight favorite.

I don’t like picking fights involving active fighters because their story hasn’t been completely written yet, but Sanders’ entire resume is based on one short shootout fight that he won against Wlad.

All of his career defeats are by KO. Look at who his handlers put him in with when building him up and you get a very big tell — see how many beefed up, on-the-downside-looking-for-a-heavyweight-payday former cruiserweight he fought: Ice Cole, Carlos de Leon, Arthur Weathers, Bobby Czyz, Johnny Nelson.

Then you find a bunch of journeymen like Ross Purity and Levi Billups and Garing Lane. The only puncher in all of this bunch was a hefty, 242-pound Bert Cooper.

Nate freaking Tubbs knocked him out. Nate’s wins to that time came over guys with a collective 34-86 record. His debut opponent was 1-0 and he later beat West Turner, who had lost five out of six — and those are the only two guys besides Sanders that he ever beat who had a winning record. Think about that.

Corrie was a brave man (as shown in how he suffered his untimely death) and he was apparently a scratch golfer. But it seems people on this forum think he was some kind of boxing God and it just ain’t so.

This is a tough fight but almost feel the cream will rise to the top this fight. AJ did beat Povetikon who is better then sanders imo (old Povetkin albeit). AJ by KO

Big fearless Corrie would scare Anthony Joshua to death, charing forward like a drunken sailor.

    I miss that guy.

Corrie wasn't a god but he did do well even past his best vs Vitali. How many times have you see Vitali hurt like that?

Corrie was a very good fighter. Not a boxing God. But he had the potential to be so much more if he was fully dedicated to boxing.

We would have to favor Joshua, but he shouldn't take the fight, unless he has to!

He’s spoken of on this forum in the same vein as Tokyo Douglas and that’s horse hockey.

He had power. Maybe he rocked Vitali but he didn’t win, did he? And Vitali was literally his next fight after Wlad ... did he go from peak to past-prime in between fights.

Name his second best win. And his third if you really want a challenge. I’ll hang up and listen.
