Byrd vs Sanders. If this fight would have happened in the early 2000s who would have won?

very interesting match and I'm not certain who I'd go with. Byrd was the better boxer, with more longterm stamina and probably a tad quicker in the foot. Sanders had more power, faster hands, and was a bit larger. I'm leaning towards Byrd slightly but a Sanders KO victory isn't out of reach.

I'll say Sanders but it wouldn't have been terribly easy. He didn't always look good against the slicksters though he always beat the ones he had faced. Luckily he had the handspeed to catch them and the savvy to go hard to the body to slow them down.

Hard fight would have loved to have seen that in early 00's. Nobody wanted a piece of Sanders as he was high risk low reward.

As much as I dislike Byrd, he would most likely have frustrated Sanders and won a decision.

Byrd would have problems with Sanders speed and power. Sanders actually had a decent jab, and I can't see Byrd standing to to toe here or throwing enough punches to win.

My gut says Sanders is all wrong for Byrd. I think there'd be a few close rounds then Sanders would land a monster shot and ko him. An Ikeish fight, imo.

Sanders probably would knock him out. He boxed well enough to get bombs in on a guy like Byrd.

Very interesting fight. Sanders had really good hand speed for a big man and we all know he was a heavy hitter. I lean towards Byrd in this one though. I could see him frustrating the hell out of Sanders all the way to a UD.
