He might be able to land 100% of his left hands though.

He was inexperienced at his peak. Sanders would be the biggest guy, fastest guy, and only southpaw he fought at that time (that I known of). There's no guarantee about how he'd handle him.

It would be similar to George's fight with Cooney. People gave Gerry a chance because of his size, speed, and power. I don't know who actually hits the harder of the two, but the big thing that quickly came to light is that Foreman was just physically much stronger. It was like a tank running over a basketball player. I think this is what would happen to Sanders, too. Corrie was quick and could punch, but he didn't have Foreman's strength and George would have mowed him down.

That's certainly true. Maybe I am giving George's chin too much respect - and to be fair, he had always demonstrated a great chin - but I do think that Sanders would land more on him than vice versa because his hands were faster and more accurate. What I'd be worried about with the older Sanders is that even if he starts great, that it turns out like the Rahman fight where by the 5th he's blown his wad and is a sitting duck. I suppose the counter argument to that is that young Foreman was also more vulnerable after he'd spent his energy early.

I could see Sanders making an interesting short fight with Foreman and rocking or even knocking him down early but Foreman unlike Klitschko would be able to comeback if this happened and I think more likely then not would get to Sanders first. Either way this fight I think ends early with Foreman getting a knockout.

Foreman fought two hard hitting quick starting HW in Tommy Morrison and Shannon Briggs and both fighters instead of all out attacking won against Foreman by retreating and refused to exchange freely with Foreman. If Sanders adapt this strategy he has a chance. If Sanders attacks all out Foreman durability and power will mean a early night via ko by Foreman.

I'm sure I'd be echoing the sentiments of most on this board when i say that Briggs and Morrison would likely be wiped out by a young George Foreman in a great wiping out. It'd be known as "The Great Wipeout of 1974"
