Who would win this battle of South African Champions? Sanders great left? or Gerrie's "Bionic" right hand? 12 rounds.

    Gerrie Coetzee, imo.

I remember his comeback against Iran Barkley in 1997-1998. He did very well for a man in his late 40's, and it was a sloppy, but entertaining slug fest. Barkley stopped him in the 8th round.

I dont think anyone gave Gerrie any credit even at his best. He was the Wba's top man in 1979 and called out Ali, but didnt get the shot. He knocks out Leon Spinks, he knocks out Dokes. He was a tricky fighter, and he lacked charisma. Holmes said he had no fan base in america, etc, but imo, when was Larry ever popular during his reign either, not too many people wanted to see Holmes win against Ali or Cooney. Coetzee should have gotten his chance at Holmes, he was certainly more deserving than Marvis Frazier.

Coetzee wins this fight and IMO a very underated fighter. Gerrie is better in every single department.
