for the right to be called best south african heavyweight.

two fighters with weak chins but big big punchers. and both had good handspeed.

undercard: franz botha vs pierre coetzer. battle of the guys with little punch but good chins.

winners also have a go at it......:D

    predictions pleasz!

This would have been a good one, and a KO at that, seems like Coetzee was the better conditioned but was one dimetional, Sanders had the faster hands and southpaw power but could he handle the bionic right hand ?

Coetzee at his best would be that little bit too classy for the one dimensional, but brave Sanders IMO.

    Coetzee TKO10

    here are my predicts:

sanders had the faster hands.........he´d get there first and score a first round knockout. the southpaw stance also would be a reason for that.

coetzer vs botha..........a tougher call. botha was the cuter fighter, but coetzer was harder working and probably more athletic.

just on a hunch i´d go with coetzer on a split decision.

then sanders defends the "south african all time belt" vs coetzer.

sanders would start favorite no doubt. in the first two rounds he´d floor and cut coetzer......but coetzer gets through the round. in round three sanders continues his assault......but coetzer dumps him with a left hook. sanders gets up quickly, but he is less reckless in his attack now.

slowly but surely coetzer starts moving forward........slowly but surely sanders is gassed.
in round nine, coetzer backs sanders into the ropes. he nails him with the left hook again.........sanders sinks to the canvas. gets up........gets greated with a barrage of shots........ref steps in.

and guess who suddenly is the "champ": PIERRE COETZER!!!

If you were to ask me the top 5 SA heavyweights, I'd have:

    1) Corrie Sanders
    2) Gerrie Coetzee
    3) Robey Leibrandt
    4) Pierre Coetzer
    5) Ben Foord

Francois Botha wouldn't make my top 10.

    With that in mind,

    Coetzer via stoppage over Botha.
    Sanders stops Coetzee.

    Sanders beats Coetzer.
