The Corrie Sanders that upsets Wladimir Klitschko
    vs
The Buster Douglas who managed to knock out Mike Tyson.

    Who would win and why?

With both on their best day, I'd go with Buster.

But with these two, if they fought 10 times, they probaly be even 5 to 5.

You never knew which Buster was going to show up and you never knew which Sanders was going to show up. Both were crazy unpredictable.

I believe that the version of Douglas we saw against Tyson was superior to any versions of Sanders. He was hungry and showed great movement. However, his whole game is based on his stiff jab and I don't see it working against a Southpaw with a laser left hand, like Sanders.

    I'd pick Sanders by KO.

Douglass was phenomenal that night, what a jab. I
believe Sanders of the Klitschko fight was very
hungry as well. However, Buster's defense wasn't
perfect that night though. A half dead Mike almost
Got the KO win. Sanders was deceptively fast with
The straight left hand. Great matchup, I gotta
go with Sanders KO. If Douglass takes the fight
down the stretch could get interesting, cause Sanders
will gas late. Sanders KO dont know when though.
    Nice fantasy match.

Gotta favor Sanders by KO. His handspeed, size, and power would prove too much for Douglas.

When he fought Tyson, Douglas was largely able to keep Tyson on the outside because Tyson was 5'10" and Douglas was 6'3". Tyson also had a 71" reach, Douglas had an 82" reach. That, plus Douglas' jab and the Rooney-less Tyson's total lack of head movement/defense made Tyson a plodding sitting duck against Douglas. He also was a one punch at a time brawler by then, he kept looking for a one shot kill against Douglas (he got it in the 8th round, but Douglas got a long count.)

In short, Douglas' jab and physical advantages- which were the key to his success against a shorter, lesser 1990 Tyson (a 1986-1988 Tyson would have wrecked Douglas in my opinion)- would not have been as significant or as effective against a southpaw of similar size to him. I think Sanders blitzes Douglas inside of 5 rounds.

Nice, agree Hawk. What fight is that in your avatar?
    De La Hoya vs Ruelas?

It's De La Hoya vs Wilfredo Rivera at Welterweight. He really looked like a machine that night.

Sanders via KO. Buster didn't take the best shot in the world and took a while to get going.

douglas, he was of prime age and lungs.

Corrie was a part timegolfer at 38 and no longer had the lungs to fight professionally at top level, Douglas would smother him and beat him late on when he gassed. Sanders at 38 and in his condition should never have been anywhere near a world title fight, although I guess in watered down Klitscho world he fits the bill perfectly as a challenger.

Prime Corrie, it would be touch and go over a series of fights but in a single best4best fight, edge to Douglas whose best prime performance eclipses Corries best prime (non-existent).

I only saw one fight that Buster was better than ordinary and that was against Tyson, and Sanders disappointed me a few times with inadequate training, zero jogging and golfing but always felt he was a danger and avoided by many as so.....Buster could beat him but more than likely Sanders takes him out quick, Buster never showed a lot of heart, something else possessed him the night he fought Tyson

    Toss up fight.

I don't know if Buster can handle a southpaw. This is the wrong guy to use as a test case. And I sure do like that Douglas foot movement against this guy. If buster was a plant his feet to do anything guy, he definately gets starched. But his huge mobility edge and the fact he does not always come forward might see him get to the 5th round or so and the fatigue factor will kick in. Walking a tightrope though and Sanders also had an excellent right hook--and I have doubts about Buster dealing with a straight left lazer and a right hook from a southpaw.

Terrific match and it would be interesting to see if Sanders can break down the defense of a mobile jabber and it would be interesting to see Douglas dealing with a southpaw hitter his size. 3 fight series and neither is going 3-0 against the other, given their warts.

I agree with what you said, However, Douglas was on fire that night, he was willing to go hell and back, he was not scared of Tyson in anyway, i dont see Sanders Koing Douglas early because Douglas was just too pumped up mentally, hed just lost his mother, his wife had left him, nobody was giving him a chance. Sanders has possible stamina issues. So if this does go past 5 rounds, i dont see Douglas getting any weaker as the fight goes on, i see him getting stronger

Douglas was a better fighter than Sanders, but if Sanders hit Douglas on the chin he could win. Id pick Buster to beat the **** out of him at distance and stop him mid to late rounds.

Sanders would be better early (He could easily go with world class fighters the first few rounds)
    Then he would quickly gas.

It depends on the first rounds.
