If these two squared off, how long does it last and who gets the stoppage?? I think Corrie eventually counters Brewster with a laser straight left and shocks him before getting the stoppage with a flurry on the ropes. Brewster had a Mercer type chin but Sanders had that devastating sneaky power that came out of nowhere. Shocked the **** out of guys. Yes Brewster hunting there against Wlad’s bombardment but The Sniper would set up the fight ending counter by the 3rd round after scoring big shots beforehand to soften Lamon up. Different type of power puncher. Elite power This content is protected No way Brewster lasts against a ready Sanders. Wlad came out and just BOMBED Brewster. I feel Corrie would pick his shots/counters more carefully and really zap the fight right outta Lamon.
Problem is that Sanders was a 3 round fighter. And Brewster showed the ability to absorb big shots. unless Sanders gets him out of there in the rounds, Brewster stops him.
It kind of depends on which version of Sanders we got. Corrie was by no means a 3 round fighter as some have alleged ... WHEN he was properly prepared. And he'd have to be for Brewster because Brewster was a tough cookie. Sanders was quite capable of moving around the ring and boxing. Indeed, that was his preferred MO for most of his career. He was more of a boxer that could punch than a pure slugger. If Sanders picked his spots and used movement I think he'd UD Brewster without too many scares. If he tried to trade with Brewster, then it's anybody's fight, because Brewster had a hell of a chin.
Good fight, but I pick Brewster. No disrespect to Sanders, who I like and was talented and hit hard, but I do feel he's become a bit overrated based on his win over Wlad. He was really only a fringe contender with one major big win.
Brewster’s approach to winning against good opponents tended to be to get the absolute crap knocked out of himself, and then rally for a stoppage once they were tired. I think that would be problematic against a decent form Sanders.
