Sander isn't outboxing Mercer over 12 rounds and in a shootout there's only one winner. Corrie's biggest attribute obviously is his power but that is to an extent negated by Mercer's chin so what's left ?? A chinny southpaw with fast hands who was frequently out of shape. That isn't enough to beat RM

    Mercer KO

Why isn’t he out boxing Mercer for 12?

Because Mercer was an very good boxer himself with an excellent, powerful jab, no way Sanders is keeping his chin out of danger 12 rounds

If sanders is in shape and opts to box, then I’m picking him by decision. If he gets too brave and slugs then Ray out lasts him to win by TKO

Possibly not. But he did a pretty good job over 12 against Ross purity who’s power and chin were comparable to Mercer’s

If I'm remembering right, that's the only time he ever went twelve.

Mercer was outboxed by plenty of worse boxers than Sanders without the bailout ko.

Sanders hits hard but he's never stopped anyone with a chin remotely good as Mercers. It's one thing to KO the fragile Wlad or a bunch of blown up cruisers like Czyz, Cole, Weathers etc but Mercer in his prime would take Sanders best shot and not even blink.

Mercer proved himself at a higher level and eventually breaks him down and KO's him.

Sanders does not have a glass chin. It's a myth. The only guy he ever got caught with and flattened was with Tubbs. He took plenty of flush shots in his career and kept chugging. Cooper landed some humdingers and it didn't bother him. Vitali threw the kitchen sink at him and couldn't drop him. I'm not saying he had an iron chin either, mind, but single big shots didn't seem to bother him too much.

He went ten a few other times where he was looking to box rather than slug including one in his twilight years against Bispo where he broke his hand early and had to outwork the other guy one handed.

Never said Sanders had a glass chin but certainly didn't have a strong one either

Anyone who fights Ray Mercer in his prime is going to get hit a lot, no way Sanders takes that and keeps going for 12 rounds, no way
