Sander's would counter any funny business early on with his left and speed. Wilder doesn't take it imo and is stopped in similar time frame to Wlad.
That's one cool dude there, you'll never meet anyone that doesn't really respect him in and out the ring. A gentleman with no agenda
Of course Corrie Sanders would beat Wilder, it's a fantasy matchup where the haters get to say Wilder will lose without having to prove it in the ring. Wilder was supposed to have lost since Stiverne (yup the same folks here picked Stiverne to beat Wilder), Wilder was supposed to lose to Ortiz, etc.. And now Wilder is supposed to lose to AJ, Usyk, Hrgovic, etc... Difference here is that Wilder can go on to prove the haters wrong (again) by knocking out all those names. That's why threads like these are needed for Wilder haters, to make an easy statement without fear of the likely outcome materialising to prove them wrong (Wilder knocking out Sanders in devastating fashion).
im not picking a winner here but the obvious is just because a fighter existed back then he automatically wins fantasy matchups lol
Most of Sanders' kos came against light heavys or cruiserweights who moved up. Wlad was one of the few exceptions. That was a great KO. I loved it. But it wasn't something that happened regularly with Sanders. Sanders tended to blow out guys who were significantly smaller than him. And, at various stages of his career, Corrie Sanders got knocked out by Nate Tubbs, Hasim Rahman, Vitali Klitschko and Osborn Machimanda. Wilder, on the other hand, has never been stopped and routinely destroys big heavyweights who outweigh him 20, 30 and 40 pounds ... even late in fights. Wilder stops him. But I'll always be grateful to Sanders for the Wlad KO. That was pretty sweet. I think Larry Merchant was about to propose marriage to Wlad during the prefight of that bout.
Sanders was a real handful on his day. He definitely has it in him to stop Wilder but I just can't confidently pick against the dude anymore
It’s crazy how Wilder is at his peak while Sanders had begun the fat golfer/part time boxer stage of his career at the same age.
So the flash in the pan Sanders who was KO'ed by a Mike Tyson sparring partner......starched by bread and butter glass jawed Rahman.....is walking over Wilder ? LOL...........Wilder never fights stupid and will give never give Sanders a target in the opening rounds.....Sanders is up 4-0 and then Wilder will lay down the boom on sanders when he is huffing and puffing. WK easily could have won the fight against Sanders even after the first knock down........instead of moving.circling away, getting on his bike while giving away a few rounds away clearing his head just sticking the jab out ......no , he went right in and got caught with the same punches over and over again aka he tried to fight fire with fire despite not having the chin to survive a fire fight.............at that time WK had a very poor Ring IQ and it showed. Conclusion: sanders will never get to "snipe " against Wilder because Wilder will never be in sniping range for the opening rounds but what is guaranteed that a gassing sanders is getting stopped after that. fact.
Is the TS a Wilder hater? Unless you've debated with him before and you know something that I don't, he doesn't appear to be hating. It seems a genuine enough question to me. Sanders underachieved with his talent. You never knew which version of him would turn up. But If Sanders had been motivated and on top his game where he fought to his full capabilities, it would have been a very bad stylistic match up for Wilder.
The definition of a flash in the pan......would could should if.........he blew out glass chinned WK, great win but nothing else. Got KO'ed by a Tyson sparring partner.......outgunned by another one hit wonder rahman...etc He just never delivered and without the WK win nobody would even remember this guy and the WK huggers make him up to some Superman when in actuality he was not when active. He did have talent and was a fighter, I give him that but he was never mentally a 100% a fighter.....he loved Golfing and Big game hunting more.......he never made the commitment to Boxing.....for example Botha relocated to the US to get better and he did...if Corrie would have done the same he could have been better too and secured some big pay days, no doubt but he never committed. Not many people know that he had to see a shrink before the WK fight to get him focused and erase self doubt.... It is a shame he was murdered by scum while shielding his kin from bullets.
It's crazy how after the same amount of fights one has 10 title defences yet hasn't ever beat anyone good and the other (who was a fat golfer by your own admission) had stopped an ATG...
Sanders almost knocked out Rahman, who benefited from a bull**** standing count and went onto smash Lewis. No doubt at all the Sanders of 03/04 is more dangerous than any opponent on Wilder's resume and would give him hell.
