How about the ref who allowed Lavender Johnson to take too many heads shots when it was clear he had taken enough. Maybe not corrupt, but that was terrible officiating.
I'm not sure. But that was terrible, just terrible officiating. I have that PPV on tape lying around somewhere in my garage, I'm going to have to find it. Or better yet, I can probably boxrec it.
Ian John Lewis and his dunderheaded as f*** move when he stopped the first Maccarinelli-McKenzie match. Not necessarily corrupt but incompetent.
Corrupt... Joe Cortez & Kenny Bayless In every Mayweather fight Ricky Hatton complained Floyd was ducking below the belt line Cortez replied Just don't hit him while he's down there Ricky or I'll take a pointll atsch Floyd screamed like a woman " Maidana bit me " Bayless said " I didn't see it but if he does it again I'll take a point" atsch Both fussed over Mayweather like two Mother Hens never gave opponents a chance Richard Steele ,,, He was Don King's hired gun
Cortez in the Hatton Floyd fight. Not saying Ricky could of won with a fair reff but christ that was some of the most one sided officiating ive ever seen in Boxing.
Cortez robbed Hatton of his only viable game plan. He needed to get in close and rough up Mayweather on the inside but never allowed it to happen, kept breaking them as soon as the fighters got together. No chance Ricky could have won that fight from the outside. No doubt handpicked by floyd to go along with every other A side advantage he could conjure. You dont get to 49-0 just by skills alone. The deck always needed to be stacked a little in his favour.
The ref who literally carried Cleverly back to his corner at the end of the 3rd round against Kovalev.
that is easily the worst. most 1 sided and and disgraceful piece of refereeing I have ever seen by a hundred miles..
Santore Jr. (Maravilla D12 Cintron). The only litteral version I know of, needing a KO to get the draw in your opponent's country. O'Connor (Kovalev TKO4 Cleverly). Terry carries the semi-concious Cleverly to the corner and resumes the fight. Cortez (Lorenzo DQ4 Soto). After interfearing with the fight for no reason, Joe disqualifies Soto for hitting Lorenzo when down... which never landed. Caiz Sr. (Ward UD12 Green). Holding and hitting on another level. Instead of warning Ward, Raul warns Green for trying to get out of Ward's arm clinch.
