BTW I saw peaple were delighted here when Cortez was appointed. They were so glad that Jay Nady wasn't!

It's strange, the Hatton camp were pleased when Cortez was appointed, as you say. To be fair, he did a good job in the Castillo fight, but that one was always likely to be a totally different contest to the RH vs FMJ one.

I was just hoping it wasn't Jon Zablocki, and was pleased when Cortez was given the job, but disappointed with his performance on the night.

    Jay Nady isn't that bad!

I don't think Jay would afford wrestking to. He did a lot of work breaking clinches in Maskaev-Rakhman II fight.

Fight occurs in Moss side, Floyd and his crew get raped.

Cortez has waaaay too big an ego. His preening for the cameras, the "firm but fair" crap, and his inconsistent refereeing are all irritations. Sometimes, he does ok, but the Hatton-Mayweather fight was pretty bad. He did seem to miss a lot of Mayweather's fouling while searching for reasons to penalize Hatton.

However, his worst moment in my opinion is still when he deprived Holyfield of a KO against Ruiz in their second fight. Evander had John down with a legitimate body shot, and Ruiz started faking and acting like he was hit low. Cortez believed him and ruled it a low blow.

    Well said Mushashi!

There wouldn't be no fighting in Moss Side - they would have been shot before getting round to throwing any punches!

I once went to a Grand Final at Old Trafford and the train didn't turn up, so had to walk through Moss Side to another station with two mates - most terrifying hour of my life!

Yeah, at first glance i didn't realy notice him being SO bad but he was quite bad the first time i saw it, i was cought up in the drama of the fight.

After viewing the fight for atleast 3 times i see that every time May and Ricky get toe to toe he sprints in like Jeremy Warriner and splits them up. Though Ricky was doing holding he was at times tradeing inside shots with May and even then Cortez split 'em up.

I didn't see any headlock takedowns or collar and elbow tie ups. Yes hatton maywell have got beaten but taking hatton inside game away like cortez did is like taking a dummy away from the kid and we saw what happens.

thats why i was pissed because hatton had to do the hardest thing anyone in boxing today would have to do and cortez made that 1% we all hoped 4 go to nothing
